[edit]Hello, ARodgersEditor. This is your user talk page; the purpose of this page is for notification and communication with other Wikipedia editors. It is not a workspace for articles in progress or self-promotion. Please use your user sandbox or the draft article space to practice editing or create new articles. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 06:35, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, Drm310! I had heard the Sandbox got "cleaned" out regularly, and was afraid to lose my work. It sounds like that's not a concern anymore. I appreciate your help, thank you! I'm still brand new here and trying to feel my way around.

- Draft articles (such as your draft, Draft:Alan Revere), not deleted until there has been at least 6 months of inactivity. Even then, you would be notified prior to its deletion, so that you could save it. The general access sandbox (Wikipedia:Sandbox) is cleared regularly.
- However, you also have a user sandbox in your userspace, User:ARodgersEditor/sandbox, where you can do practice edits or create drafts. It is a type of user subpage, which you can create yourself. User subpages are not routinely patrolled and can exist indefinitely. Typically a user's sandbox is edited only by them; although it is open for anyone to edit, it's considered discourteous to edit another user's sandbox without their permission. However, both drafts and user subpages are not exempt from Wikipedia policies and guidelines. If others notice inappropriate content (e.g. promotional messages; copyrighted text or images without proof of release; or content meant to disparage, threaten, intimidate, or harass their subject or some other entity), they are subject to deletion. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:53, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
Drm310, thank you again! I truly appreciate you taking the time to help me understand how these things work. I'd scoured Wiki pages and Googled for other people's experiences in creating pages, but I surely missed a lot of details; it's a lot to take in. I appreciate you sharing this with me so I can access the info more easily. ARodgersEditor (talk) 22:59, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

How to cite sources
[edit]Hi, I noticed Draft:Alan Revere and you seem to be unaware of how to add references properly, so I wanted to recommend Easier referencing for beginners to you. The tips on that page should help you add references to your draft article. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 18:27, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Schazjmd: Thanks for linking to Nick's guide rather than the other one. I find his so much better. ARodgers, this is same guide I linked to in my response on my talk page. S0091 (talk) 19:32, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
Schazjmd, Thank you so much for your help! I'll reconfigure the references to meet Wiki style. I really appreciate your suggestion. ARodgersEditor (talk) 18:37, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
