Adoption

[edit]

Hi there, was wondering if you would still like to be 'adopted'? If you don't wish to be adopted by me, no worries, still feel free to ask me a question anytime :-) ScarianTalk 05:12, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hooah, okay what help do you need buddy? What sorta of things are you a bit wary of? Anything that I can guide you on, just gimme a message ;-) ScarianTalk 08:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well replying to messages for a start. If i reply to you here will you be notified of it or do i have to reply on your page? also if i'm chatting with another user do i keep the chat on one page or another or switch between, me replying on his, him replying on mine type of thing? AMIRITE 08:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I get you. Well, personally, I don't mind whether you reply on mine or yours talk page. If it is easier for you to reply on here, then no worries I will check your talk page for a reply. But no, if you replied, in our conversation, on this page; I would not be notified of that. Unless I put your talk page in my watch column.
If you are chatting to another user, it would depend on your preference or his/her's. Some user's prefer that the conversation be carried out on one page so as not to fragment the conversation and make it easier to read. So, the answer, it doesn't need to be all on one page... but it might be easier to do that. Has that solved your query? Anything else you need help with? Reply here if you want I will always check it. ScarianTalk 08:54, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh okay. Well, if you need anything else just post me. So, what are your interests? Tell me about yourself (If you don't mind). Then we can work on those articles that interest you and we can begin seeing how Wikipedia works (And how to keep oneself out of the way of grumpy, nasty editor's). ScarianTalk 09:51, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries mate. Feel free to bug me all you want! All I'm doing today is watching X-File's DVD's. Ah, you're an actor too! An active one no less. How long have you been acting? Anyways, message me whenever you need anything (Btw, they're called userboxes, but that's unimportant hehe ;-) ScarianTalk 10:45, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All you gotta remember when you're acting is that you're someone completely different! ;-) You live in Kilkenny? I have family in Co. Offaly. You ever go there? ScarianTalk 11:38, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I think maybe you asked the question an hour ago so I don't know if you found the solution. I will find the link and give it to you. [1] - There is the link. All you have to do is click on edit page and copy the coding for the box which is at the top of the page. Hooah. Message me if you need any other help, mate. ScarianTalk 13:03, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and you asked for a list of them too, sorry. I will try and find something to that effect... [2] - I believe that is the closest thing to a list. They're mostly just categories of userboxes. If you hunt around on that page or links of that page - then you might find what you want. If that fails, you can just steal boxes off of other user's! Message me if you need anything else buddy. ScarianTalk 13:08, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. Just shoot me a line any time for help. ScarianTalk 13:21, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Edits

Okay good, I have noticed those edits you have made to that college and they are good. You re-worded a POV sentence (The one about it being one of the best secondary colleges in the country - or something to that effect) which is a score for Wikipedia! Yay! If you have any specific enquiries about how to use Wikipedia or understanding some of millions of policies that they have, don't hesitate to ask me (I keep saying that a lot, don't I? Sorry). I suspect you may not even need my help! All the best. ScarianTalk 16:38, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you added the poem text to Easter, 1916. That's fair enough, but, sometimes, if a poem is too long, usually just key excerpts are shown, if at all. Wikipedia has a sister project, Wikisource, that lists source texts (the poem should go there), I looked but the Easter, 1916 wasn't there (I think that means that someone hasn't bothered to put it there). Usually, if a poem is too long, the article is linked to Wikisource so readers can read it there (Rather than bogging down the article). I, personally, don't think it's too bad but other editor's might nit-pick.
Well, anyway, I only messaged just to tell you. Maybe pick out a few key sentences from the poem, or, cut down a few stanza's to make it more compact. Message me if you require any help, buddy. :-) ScarianTalk 19:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Skunk Fu! characters.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 09:02, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

Sorry for the late reply AMIRITE, I was on holiday for a while and then I didn't find your message until I was archiving. Okay, hmm... images are my weak point but I shall find out for you I promise! Going by common sense - the image would need to be completely free of any copyright, or the owner of the picture's copyright would need to release it or give it permission to be put on here. From what I know, images licenses are one of the hardest things to get right. I'll get some help with this one, maybe we can both learn something! ScarianTalk 15:39, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hooah - Good news, I went to Autocracy and he told me that "that seems to be a very well put detail with rational, etc." about your imaged uploading and licensing etc. And he told me that it's fine and you did a good job on it :-) - Well done. ScarianTalk 16:03, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Skunk Fu! characters.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Skunk Fu! characters.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:24, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
