Hi AK for MAG,
Please add your COI statement on this page, above the Welcome message. Post any requests for revisions here, too, in new sections at the bottom of this and other messages.
I've added archive urls to most of the sources as a hedge against link rot, but also to offer readers archived links to sources that are otherwise behind a paywall. Pleas check through all the citations and let me know if you find problems.
A couple of suggestions:
First, do you have and image of MAG for the infobox? Informal photos are okay, or if it's a professional headshot, be sure it can be posted with either a CC-by-SA 4.0 license or a public domain license, with the photographer's specific permission. I've found it easiest to post photos on my FLICKR account with a CC-by-SA 2.0 license or public domain, with attribution to (and permission from) the photographer, then uploading it to Wikimedia Commons choosing the FLICKR option. I've worked with subjects whose photo images have been deleted for copyright issues, so be aware that copyright stuff may be disappointing and tricky.
Second, both for balance and neutral point of view, litigation and/or local opposition to the real estate projects need to be explained, with both the complaints and the responses or resolutions. Draft some text and post it here, where we can discuss any issues as they come up.
Third, I've posted two items in an "Awards, honors" section, but as I was skimming through the sources, I think there were quite a few more. Could you please find and source additional awards and honors, listing them here?
I have this page on my watch list, and will try to respond within a day to your requests for revisions.
Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 21:47, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Grand'mere Eugene, thank you for your extensive work on this article; it looks great! I went ahead and added the additional COI disclosure, as per your request. I am also working on the image and hope to have it soon. Following up on your point about balance and NPOV, I went through the sources and am not sure what would be relevant to include. Some of the articles do mention lawsuits and/or complaints relating to the projects, but these do not seem related to Gilmartin personally and I question their relevance in a BLP. These issues are also already included in the relevant project articles. From what I have found, many of these issues were present before Gilmartin took over development, and I can't seem to find sources which link her and the lawsuits/complaints. If you see otherwise, please feel free to bring those to the discussion. Here are some examples of what I mean:
- This article on Barclays Center mentions a lawsuit during the construction stage, which is detailed in the Barclay Center's Wikipedia article.
- The same can be said for this article and this article covering Baltimore Peninsula - these were issues before Gilmartin's firm took on this project.
- On the other hand, I agree that it's appropriate to add the following context to the MAS Jacqueline Onassis Medal, perhaps in the body of the article:
- "In 2014, Gilmartin and Ratner were awarded the Municipal Art Society's Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Medal. While the Historic Districts Council, as well as other preservationists, marked this as controversial, the MAS defended their choice based on Ratner and Gilmartin's focus on creating affordable housing, innovative modular building techniques, and commitment to New York's future.[1]
- ^ Rubinstein, Dana (3 June 2014). "Ratner award sparks intra-preservationist fight". politico.com.
- Please feel free to adjust the language. Thank you again. AK for MAG (talk) 17:13, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Done — One other question: I revised the infobox birth info to reflect only her year of birth and approximate age out of concerns for living individuales' identity theft or otherwise annoying scammers. Let me know if that's objectionable. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 20:31, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I moved the draft to article space, and it can still be revised, so please let me know when you have an image to add to the infobox. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 01:03, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Grand'mere Eugene, thank you so much for your sensitivity regarding Ms. Gilmartin's birth date. Thank you, as well, for moving the draft to article space and for your offer to continue working on it. I hope it's okay that I added the image you requested to the infobox on my own. Have a great day! AK for MAG (talk) 16:02, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
- Good job.
- Post any updates here, as I still have it on my watchlist. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 16:37, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
