List of cycles
[edit]Thanks for putting up your excellent list of cycles! Do you mind if I edit the page to include a link to a category in each unchecked cycle (e.g. Category:Communication_design)? This will make checking through them much quicker. Dsp13 (talk) 14:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Of course, you can. Thank you. AKA MBG (talk) 14:56, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- This seemed fiddly to do, and since all I wanted was a quick way to go from this page to a given category page, I used the following bookmarklet, which searches for a particular wikipedia category with whatever text is highlighted:
javascript:(function(){q=document.getSelection(); if(!q){void(q=prompt('Wikipedia keywords:',''))}; if(q)location.href='http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?search=Category:'+escape(q)})()
- Thanks for useful line of code and new word for me: bookmarklet. AKA MBG (talk) 20:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Any chance of updating the list of cycles? --Rumping (talk) 12:06, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- It will require to download new dump of English Wikipedia. The chance exists :). I will write it to my todo list. --AKA MBG (talk) 17:58, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- is it still on your todo list? ;) Dsp13 (talk) 00:37, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- OK. Let's wait when new dump will be ready. And I will start download this huge archive :) -- AKA MBG (talk) 09:53, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- fabulous! (Though do you need the whole thing, or only the category membership data?) Dsp13 (talk) 04:40, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- My SQL scripts require two tables: page and categorylinks. -- AKA MBG (talk) 13:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
OK. Now I have no time for creating "List of cycles". I will die or create Wiktionary parser. I prefer second :) -- AKA MBG (talk) 13:23, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- good luck with the parser! Dsp13 (talk) 20:03, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
WP:RUSSIA roll call and your input required
[edit]Privet. You are receiving this message as you were listed on the membership list of WP:RUSSIA at Wikipedia:WikiProject Russia/Members. Recent times has seen minimal activity within WikiProject Russia, and there is an attempt to re-invigorate the project and have it become more organised into a fully-fledge functioning project, with the aim of increasing the quality of Russia-related articles across English wikipedia.
As we don't know which listed members are active within the project and Russia-related article, all listed members are receiving this message, and are requested to re-affirm their active status on Russia-related article by re-adding their username to Wikipedia:WikiProject Russia/Members by adding:
# {{User|YOURUSERNAME}}
to the membership list. You may also like to place {{User Russian Project}} on your userpage, as this will also place you in Category:WikiProject Russia members.
There is also an active proposal on the creation of a single WP:RUSSIA project. The proposal can be viewed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Russia#Proposal_for_overhaul_and_creation_of_a_single_WP:RUSSIA_project, and your comments and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Russia/Proposal.
We all look forward to your continued support of WP:RUSSIA and any comments you may have on the proposal. --Russavia Dialogue Stalk me 04:41, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Music and Spoken Wikipedia
[edit]Thanks for the suggestion to add music to my most recent addition to Spoken Wikipedia. It's much better now! -- Pjf (talk) 18:28, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- I think that now the recording is really much better. Fine!
- I recommend to add the name of the used music composition (with license) to the description of the audio file, in order to escape the blame of using of copyrighted music. See an example of such description after the word "incorporating" in the File:Ru-Russia part 7 Military and Religion.ogg. My format is:
Artist - Album / Composition (License tag)
- Good luck! -- Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 11:12, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Spoken Wikipedia template
[edit]Hi. You added {{Spoken Wikipedia|You forgot poland.ogg|2005-06-25}} to the United States presidential election debates, 2004 article. Unfortunately, it says that '[the] audio file was created from a revision of the "United States presidential election debates, 2004" article dated 2005-06-25', when in fact it was created from the You forgot Poland article, which is now a redirect. Is there any way of adding the correct article name to the template? Scolaire (talk) 11:00, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- As I understand, this is very rare case, and it is first in my practice when the text of the spoken article was integrated into other article. I am not a skilled craftsman to change this complex template :( You can post your question to the talk page of {{Spoken Wikipedia}} template.
- It was fun and interesting to know about this failed joke of the president, when I listening this audio file in first time :) -- Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 11:15, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- I have posted to the template talk page. I'm not very optimistic, however, because there doesn't seem to be very much activity there (none at all in the last year). Scolaire (talk) 21:31, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. The most intriguing and fun thing in the Wikipedia, that it is impossible to predict - when and who will improve it :) -- Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 13:14, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
