Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Revature
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Revature, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Re: Deletion of Revature page
[edit]Hello QueerEcofeminist, Thank you for reviewing the page. I'm putting my reply here per your instruction on your Talk page. I see that the article has been deleted and I wonder if, rather than delete it completely, we could consider some edits to address your concerns.
1. Notability: The company has trained thousands of coders, has an unusual business model, and has been written up in at least two national newspapers.
2. Independent sources: I have cited articles from the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and OneZero (the last of which is extremely critical of the company, calling its business model "indentured servitude.")
3. Advertising: I am not a Revature employee but a freelancer working on several projects for them and other clients. They asked me to put together the page, but they have not controlled the content at all. (See the "Controversies" section.) That said, if there is material that comes across as less than objective, I would appreciate some help making it more encyclopedic.
Let me know. Thanks! AJWilson82 (talk) 11:37, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- See in your own reply you confessed that, you have been working with them and they had asked you to create this article. In such a case you should review our policies WP:COI, WP:GNG. If you still feel the article should be there, I suggest don't create it again, just ask for a refund of the article, if admins feel like they will restore it. thanks QueerEcofeminist[they/them/their] 04:46, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
