Note of personal attack probably made by this editor

Hi Tanthalas! When I trace the IP that made this comment, it is in a different city and state than A8UDI. If you suspect that they are one in the same, why not ask one of WP’s best checkusers to run CheckUser on the IP and this user to confirm your suspicions? With my albeit limited skillset, I come up with this editor being in New York (I won’t mention the city for privacy reasons), while the IP is in Worcester, Massachusetts. I hope I’m not wrong: I’d hate to think that this editor had stooped to making anonymous personal attacks. What are your thoughts on using CheckUser to confirm? Thanks! — SpikeToronto 17:51, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I know that it’s unusual to post to a retired talk page, but I was unsure how else to respond to your post on a retired user’s talk page. Thanks for understanding! — SpikeToronto 18:01, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Gone? Yet another editor retired... I'll miss patrolling with you.  fetchcomms 00:00, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
UPDATE  A much smarter wikieditor than I suggested using Traceroute rather than Geolocate in this matter. Little did I know that Geolocate can yield incorrect results. It turns out, according to Traceroute, that the IP editor does indeed trace to that city in Western New York after all. My apologies to the wise Tan39. — SpikeToronto 05:54, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
