[edit]If you are not the intended target of this block, please read the information below in order to receive assistance.
IP users (without an account): If you do not have an account and wish to bypass this block, an account can be created to allow you to edit. In general, these blocks only prevent users who are not logged in from editing; once you are logged in, the block will no longer affect you in any way. To request an account, simply click here and follow the directions provided on the page. It is important that you use an e-mail address issued to you by your ISP, school, or organisation, so we may verify that you are a legitimate user. When filling out the account request form, please refer to this block in the "comments" input field. If you've been instructed to request an account via email, please refer to this block in your message.
Registered users (with an account): Please make sure you are logged in to your account. If you are unable to edit while logged in, you may request IP block exemption to bypass blocks unconnected with you that affect your editing. Post an unblock request to your user talk page.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Hold up, hold up. Nobody would go to all that trouble typing out a weather box just for fun ... I think this person just didnt know where to put the link, or that their source was the same as the source of the other one. This really isnt deserving of a warning, in my opinion. If youre still here, can you explain? —Soap— 02:09, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
- Well I didnt look at the earlier sections on this page, ... it looks like you (or someone at this IP) really has done vandalism that took a long time to type out. Still ... this doesnt look quite the same, and I would be happy to reinstate the edit if I could find some way to get at that data. But since it is apparently in Fahrenheit, I doubt it comes from the same source. Thanks, —Soap— 13:18, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

Hey
[edit]Hi there.
I notice that you never talk to other people. You seem to put a lot of time into what you write, and sometimes I'm not sure we should be so quick to shout you down, but I can't really stand up for someone who won't stand up for themselves. If you want us to stop undoing everything you do, you need to actually talk to us, and explain what you're doing. Expecting us to just figure it out on our own isn't really going to work.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards, —Soap— 21:26, 29 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Climate charts
[edit]
Good morning. I hope you and your family are doing well. I really enjoyed your climate charts. It's nice to find someone else who enjoys this peculiar hobby. The first few charts you posted seemed to have a few mistakes, such as snow falling in a climate that's too warm for it, but the second batch of charts were very soundly made. That's about all I can say on that. You're blocked again, and this time for three months. I am not the one who blocked you and I cannot change it. I think your refusal to communicate with others is going to keep getting you blocked. You've shown that you can edit helpfully, and that you know exactly what you're doing, which means you dont have a good reason for messing around with the climate tables of real places like Burlington. Perhaps you'll need to find another hobby. Regards, PRISM[edit]All I can offer right now is this link: It's a tool that will produce interpolated climate data for any place you click on the map. Currently it's limited to the mainland United States. It doesn't produce the colorful tables with numbers that Wikipedia uses, but rather gives you a choice between a series of line graphs and a spreadsheet you can download. You just need to place the cursor on the map, play with the buttons until you get what you want, and then press either "Retrieve Time Series" or "Download Time Series". It saves your options so you don't need to press the same buttons every time you visit. I enjoy playing with this tool, so hopefully you can have some fun with it too. You might even find it's more fun than what you've been doing. Best wishes, |
Just a note to anyone passing by: this person violated their block and inserted false climate data for months under a variety of names and IPs. I'm ignoring all of that however as I'm not really up to the task of checking every single edit to see if it's valid or not, and I suspect nobody else is willing to do that either. Let me know if you have questions. —Soap— 20:06, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Beijing
[edit]I fixed an edit you made where you tried to insert a graph into the Beijing climate page. Instead of it showing up loose on the page, you had it inside a reference. All the best, —Soap— 20:00, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
