[edit]Hi, just to let you know that not only is there no need to "fix" redirects, the practice is actively discouraged. See WP:NOTBROKEN. Thanks, DuncanHill (talk) 22:49, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! A discussion about your edits
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. DuncanHill (talk) 23:30, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hello! As was referenced above, generally there is no need to remove links to redirects. The redirect feature was added just for this purpose. It is preferable to leave them as there may be a need to form a new page instead of a redirect in the future, and it often adds clutter to the page to remove them. More on that at WP:NOTBROKEN, which discusses this matter.
- You may however be interested in a very similar job, which in which links do need to be changed: links to disambiguation pages! Links to disambiguation pages are confusing, and should be replaced with links to the right topic. For more on that, checkout Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links. Cheers! [edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to 1994 Labour Party leadership election, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Thank you. DuncanHill (talk) 00:46, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Jo Cox. You are repeatedly ignoring requests to change your behaviour, continuing to fail to use edit summaries, and failing to respond to requests to discuss your edits. Hello, I'm Thepenguin9. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Labour Party Conference—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Thepenguin9 (talk) 23:19, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
A longer break is clearly needed

. This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
