[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (90.32.108.201) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! Mathglot (talk) 02:34, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
Censorship in France
[edit]I noticed your edit at Censorship in France, which was a top-of-article comment above the short description that added a "cautionary statement" warning that the article was limited to censorship in journalism. Your comment at the top of the article was inappropriate and contrary to Wikipedia principles, and has been removed. You may not decide by your own unilateral declaration what the article is about. In fact, the article title policy determines the topic of the article, along with consensus at the Talk page.
If you believe that the topic of this page should be limited exclusively to censorship in journalism, then the article will require a name change. To prepare for this, you should read WP:MOVE and propose a name change at Talk by following WP:RM#CM. However, as an experienced user here, I can tell you that in all likelihood you would be wasting your time to pursue that route, and it is extremely unlikely that your name change proposal would succeed. However, there is nothing stopping you in principle from creating a new article, called something like, "Censorship in journalism in France", as a child article of Censorship in France in summary style. That said, creating a new article is an advanced skill at Wikipedia, but you could read WP:AFC which helps steward you through the process, and you can ask questions about editing at the WP:Help desk any time, and get answers there. This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
