- not sure what happened here, but you seem to have replicated refs. the original you had to consolidate them was much better.Lihaas (talk) 14:33, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
- Before the change it read just "Verkkoviite" (internet reference in Finnish), as I copy pasted it from the Finnish Wikipedia. -- 89.27.103.116 (talk) 14:36, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
- oh right. but we should somehow consolidate them. i m sure someone will run reflinks on sunday before posting on the main page
- also i found how to make the redlinks linkable, but i have to go offline now. so can you finish up the other red links?Lihaas (talk) 16:03, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

- can you work otu the translation for the image at the results section? it needs some verification ont he colour codes.(Lihaas (talk) 16:07, 21 April 2011 (UTC)).
New Project?
[edit]up for the challegne of Papal conclave, 2005? the article is utter rubbish but apparently a FA on the Finnish one. but can you help improve the english one from that?(Lihaas (talk) 19:29, 22 April 2011 (UTC)).
- Hm. I probably don't have the energy. I've been active now only because of the election. Sorry. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 20:22, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Help
[edit]need your help to finish this List of MPs in the 72nd Finnish parliament. suppose we can take parties and divide the workl between 3?Lihaas (talk) 02:01, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- OK, I can begin with the True Finns MPs. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 02:08, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Ive asked Hydrox to the soc-dems and then the smaller parties we could do easily.
- also is Sinuhe Wallinheimo the hockey player the same as the politiciam since he seems to have retired now?
- and who is christian beijar at the bottom of the page?
- what does Uusi mean for some candidates over ont he pageLihaas (talk) 13:33, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, Wallinheimo the MP is a former hockey player. Christian Beijar is not elected, but he is a deputy MP to Nauclér of Åland, ie. if Nauclér resigns, he will take her place as he got the second most votes on the Åland party list. Uusi means "new" ie. a new MP. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 19:16, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- hMMM, HIS ENGLISH ARTICLE DOESNT MENTION ANYTHIGN ABOUT POLITICS. (okay just realised and im not deleting the caps now ;)) we need to update his article witht he MP status as thats more current than hockey so it shoudl be on tp.
- what does beijar's status mean? should we add it to the page? and should we highlight new mps, with an asterisks perhaps?
- also is "Ahvenanmaa " the finnish or swedish name for aland?Lihaas (talk) 22:31, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Beijar's status is "varalla" which could be translated "in reserve". He is a deputy MP, which means that he isn't important unless Nauclér resigns for some reason. I don't see any reason to add the deputy MPs to the article, seeing that there are dozens of them and they only become important once a sitting MP resigns. Ahvenanmaa is the Finnish name, Åland is the Swedish name. In English Wikipedia it has been the policy to use the name Åland. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 14:16, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

- hmm,. thats wrong. it ought to be the finnish name as its in finland.
- anyhoo, i nom'd the election page Talk:Finnish parliamentary election, 2011 for GA (see the gag on top.Lihaas (talk) 02:02, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- per this edit it says 36th, but the parliament page list says this would be the 72. whats the disparity? perhaps the former is by the # of elections but the parliament page includes government that fell and were reconstituted with a new coalition before an election?Lihaas (talk) 14:33, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, the next government will be the 72nd in Finnish history. However this was the 36th election. Before the 1980s it wasn't unusual for governments to fall between elections. Then a new government was usually formed instead of new elections. So the fact that the next government led by Katainen will be the 72nd government does not change the fact that the eduskunta elected is the 36th in order. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 23:44, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- hmm yes, good point. Though we could call it something to mention the 672 goverment
- "List of MPs during the 72nd government"?Lihaas (talk) 16:36, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
- It can be mentioned in the article, but I still think that the article's name should be "List of MPs of the 36th Finnish Parliament", as the MPs' position is not directly dependent on the government: it would be the 36th parliament even if Katainen's government falls and a new one is formed (if a new election is not called). --89.27.103.116 (talk) 18:27, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
- Done can you add the 72 detaoils?Lihaas (talk) 10:24, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

- Finnish_parliamentary_election,_2011#Analysis needs 2 clarifications, can you answer them?Lihaas (talk) 19:11, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- UPDATE: the article is pending a GA review (but it takies forever). Ive also asked for a peer review as a basis for an eventual FA nomination. Its pending here [1] you may be interested in following it, or asking an uninvolved editer for his views. Obviously you me and Hydrox cant review it as were directly involved.(Lihaas (talk) 20:13, 15 May 2011 (UTC)).
- See the talk page. I made some changes but theres some clarification needed (eg- that Nauclear sits with the spp)(Lihaas (talk) 23:50, 17 May 2011 (UTC)).

communists? my word youre liek me. broad generalisations. (not invalid though ;))
- anyhoow per "a new environmental-friendly climate law and a 100 euro increase to the smallest welfare benefits" whats the source on this?(Lihaas (talk) 22:08, 19 May 2011 (UTC)).
- The source is the same HS article, this one.[2] --89.27.103.116 (talk) 17:22, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Also we need to work on these improvements.[3](Lihaas (talk) 02:28, 21 May 2011 (UTC)).
- And can you the notes from [4] to the english article?(Lihaas (talk) 01:09, 23 May 2011 (UTC)).
- should we move List of MPs in the 36th Finnish parliament to 36th Finnish parliament? that way we cn shorten the election page and put govt formation there(Lihaas (talk) 05:09, 26 May 2011 (UTC)).
- Yeah, that sounds good. But we probably should retain at least a short description of the government formation on the election's main page as well. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 15:23, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- New election in Oct or so? What do you say? TF will be the biggest by then ;)(Lihaas (talk) 23:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)).
Suomen Sisu
[edit]whats the story with them? any connection to TF? a google search leads to blog posts ready to condemn as "neo-nazi". but is there a connection we can add here to electoral politics?(Lihaas (talk) 04:54, 18 May 2011 (UTC)).
- Suomen Sisu is a nationalist organisation, but not neo-nazi. The organisation is not affiliated with any party, but four of their members were elected to the the Parliament as True Finns MPs (Jussi Halla-aho, Juho Eerola, Olli Immonen, James Hirvisaari) - Suomen Sisu congratulated the four members on the organisation's website.[5] --89.27.103.116 (talk) 19:37, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

- "Disqualification of votes" section which we could remove if there i s not reputable source.
- "Pasi Saukkonen, a political scientist at Helsinki University," need clarification (though i dont understand what now)
- I also propose splitting off the opinion poll tables askin to Brazilian presidential election, 2010. that should do it.(Lihaas (talk) 18:26, 7 June 2011 (UTC)).
- Split off the polls. Just added 1 tag that needs answering [6](Lihaas (talk) 20:31, 8 June 2011 (UTC)).
- hmmm, this didnt add anything other than an edit summary.
- also, as a to do (and i will help too) refs
2, 27, 34, 37,15are dead links.(Lihaas (talk) 20:44, 8 June 2011 (UTC)).- There was an edit conflict in the first, I've made the referenced change now. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 20:46, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Almost good to go now. See the GA form on the page, we only need the dead link addressing. Ill help finding it tomorrow, tired now ;)(Lihaas (talk) 20:49, 8 June 2011 (UTC)).
- Ive done this. could you make sure the titles on the refs are right?(Lihaas (talk) 21:04, 8 June 2011 (UTC)).

- Also considered getting an account? so we can pass out barnstars
- Although it seems to be a requirement for broadband so your IP may not change (that propoganda coup didnt help the govt ;))(Lihaas (talk) 21:11, 8 June 2011 (UTC)).
While this may not be GA, uim trying to prep for FA. can you answer it?
- Just the 3 deadlinks left and were almost at GA...;) Not doneLihaas (talk) 23:02, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Need to answer they why tag in the debates section. (both finish sources so i cant answer it)
- Ive also answered 2 deadlinks. can you see if you answer the rest "[dead link] Instructions for failing an election funding disclosure"Lihaas (talk) 09:33, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- cool, thanks. just need the why tagLihaas (talk) 09:33, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- tried translating but couldnt find any reasons for the halt. couldnt even find mention of the halt.Lihaas (talk) 07:07, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- The source[7] only has a short quote from Urpilainen regarding nuclear power, in Finnish: "Pitää vahvistaa energiaomavaraisuutta. Tuoreiden ydinvoimapäätösten jälkeen otettava tuumaustauko." Translated: "We must strengthen our energy self-reliance. After the recent nuclear power decisions we must keep a pause for reflection/consideration". So it doesn't give a reason. She probably gave one in the debate, but I don't know, whether any of the journalists have gone into so much detail on that particular debate. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 19:55, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- okay done.Lihaas (talk) 19:36, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Question
[edit]Should we move List of MPs in the 36th Finnish parliament to 36th Finnish parliament so we can merge the govt formation stuff there? Itll lso shorte3n the main page.(Lihaas (talk) 05:19, 11 June 2011 (UTC)).
- Yeah, I guess that can be done. Probably good to retain some kind of a short description on the main election page. --89.27.103.116 (talk) 19:52, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Nice work
[edit]Nice, but any sources? [8][9][10]

- The National Coalition Party re-elected incumbent Minister of Finance Jyrki Katainen the party leader on 12 June,[1]
- However, there were some problems with expatriate voting as the embassy in Germany ran out of ballots on 9 April forcing an extension to 11 April.[2]
