Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 86.5.160.43, has made edits to the page Fish and chips which do not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the help desk where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly.

If you did not make this change, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors. Logging in is not mandatory to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or visit the Teahouse, our help forum for new users.

Again, welcome! IamNotU (talk) 18:13, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note to fellow editors: this seems to be a dynamically allocated address because it has just been used to make a pair of very good edits to Reserve currency. We should assume good faith.
  • Note to visitors who see this message: as you may see from the welcome message above, another visitor has made an nonconstructive contribution. If it persists, it is possible that this address will be blocked. So we encourage you to get a Wikipedia user name and thereafter you will be exempted from any block based on network address,

I appreciate that you are probably a language nationalist, but I think the Roman occupation and rule and influence on Britain is pretty well documented, no? Hadrian's wall? Bodecea? Ring any bells? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.127.207.102 (talk) 07:34, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Care to be more specific? Welsh in Britain as used by the Anglo Saxons had nothing to do with Rome's occupation of Britain. Not sure why you think that. Also not sure what a 'language nationalist' is, either way I'm not Welsh. I think you're confusing the use of cognate terms for Welsh (Walhaz etc.) on the continent with that of Britain, which my statement was in reference to. 86.5.160.43 (talk) 00:58, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Godert de Ginkel, 1st Earl of Athlone, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Thanks,NeuropolTalk 18:26, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
