Band Pages
[edit]A music-related article you have recently written may not meet Wikipedia's generally accepted criteria for inclusion of bands, musicians, or musical acts. It has likely been marked for deletion. Don't worry, there are several other options:
- Create an entry for your band on one of the many social networking websites.
- Many ISPs allow you to create your own website, often at no extra charge.
With the above options your band's page will be protected from being edited by others, unlike a Wikipedia article (which may be edited by anyone).
- You may create a wiki at EditThis.info or one of the other wiki farms.

Image source problem with She dick street.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:She dick street.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:36, 8 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. szyslak 01:36, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on She Dick, by Philippe (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because She Dick seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting She Dick, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 01:53, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to ignore our policies by introducing inappropriate pages, such as She dick, to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. — Coren (talk) 06:01, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Let's see. In order:
- The Glamazons are indeed also not notable. I've CSD'ed them also.
- Peaches (musician) has published albums and won awards. That makes her notable.
- I'm looking into K Records. Probably will end up deleted as well.
- I expect that was not your objective, but thanks for pointing those out. You might want to read the notability guidelines, those will tell you exactly what Wikipedia's standards for notability are. — Coren (talk) 06:15, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah right
[edit]- If something is mentioned in two major news papers in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, and those sources are referenced, how is that not a notable event. It was noted in two publications. Just because someone doesn't win awards doesn't mean that they are not notable. That's silly. In this case, you are simply ignoring the evidence that this topic is indeed notable.
Also, did you happen to read the articles?
[edit]Notice key terms such as "singing sensation" and "future pop icons". Those terms denote what you call notability. And, again, they are referenced in independent news sources.
- No, they denote that you like the band enough to use vanity terms. You need reliable sources to establish notability. Please read the criteria. — Coren (talk) 06:30, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Funny, I thought most of the information was gleened from the notable articles themselves, Coren. Wouldn't you say? Do you have a problem with SHE DICK, Coren? Define reliable please.
- The underline and different color of the hyperlink above (or here) will point you to a definition of "reliable". — Coren (talk) 06:37, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Right, but your interpretation of reliable seems to be different than what it says under those neatly underlined letters that are of a different color. But thank you, Coren, for pointing that out to me.
- Reliable sources are authors or publications regarded as trustworthy or authoritative in relation to the subject at hand. Reliable publications are those with an established structure for fact-checking and editorial oversight.
- Articles should rely on reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. Sources should be appropriate to the claims made.
- Now, how are you not able to verify that an independent, third-party made these claims about a band?
Hello? Coren? Are you there Coren? Coren!?
[edit]Well, I'm going to take a shower Coren, but I'll be back shortly.
She Dick
[edit]Greetings, I've edited the references and formatted them as well as added some wikilinks that hyperlink She dick to other pages on wikipedia. Please consider looking at other articles to get a feel about wikipedia writing and then add more information to the article to help other readers understand about the subject of the article. If you own the rights to a photo of the band then consider adding it with appropriate tags. Song lyrics might also be useful. Benjiboi 09:50, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Burnberrytree has nominated the article for deletion. You can discuss it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/She Dick (2nd nomination) —rybec 10:24, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
