, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Favonian (talk) 10:58, 10 October 2011 (UTC)76.119.75.131 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
This is a personal dispute with another user, through talk pages. This does not constitute harassment. I am merely seeking an apology for an abuse of power by a mod. 76.119.75.131 (talk) 11:00, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Decline reason:
(1) You have personally attacked other editors. (2) You have explicitly stated that you think some people "deserve" to be personally attacked, indicating that you are likely to do likewise again. (3) You have persistently badgered an editor over a minor issue which you could have dropped and moved on. (4) You have explicitly stated that you intend to continue the harassment when the block ends. This kind of battleground approach to other editors is not how Wikipedia works, and if you can't change your modus vivendi then you will not be able to contribute constructively to a project which depends on cooperation and collaboration. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Reviewing admin, please read User talk:DVdm#What's your problem?. This abuse of warning templates broke the camel's back. Favonian (talk) 11:03, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
I would like to contest the block as I felt like we were having a reasonable discussion on my talk page, or at least make it a WP:SOFTBLOCK. Cheers. Crazynas t 11:04, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you Crazynas - you truly seem to be the only reasonably mod/admin on today. I really don't understand why apologizing for a supposedly honest mistake is so difficult for DeadlyAssassin?76.119.75.131 (talk) 11:11, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
I'd like to point out that both Crazynas and DVdm have agreed with me that DeadlyAssassin should apologize to me. So of the 4 people (including 3 mods), DA is the only one who seems to think he should not apologize.76.119.75.131 (talk)
- You do realize we're not mod's right (well Favonian is, but DvM and DA and I aren't) ? Go read my reply back on my talk page and reply here if you want, although the real test to me is if you will create an account if creation is turned on for through your block. Will you? Cheers. Crazynas t 11:20, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't bother registering because although I read Wiki's a lot, I rarely make any edits. Here, I just corrected a line that was several years out of date. But if DA is representative of the kind of people who are users here, I'm not sure why I would bother with trying to involve myself in this community. 76.119.75.131 (talk) 11:29, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
In any event, the ban will expire tomorrow, and if i have not received an apology by then, I will continue to seek one from DA. 76.119.75.131 (talk) 11:41, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- Indeed, although statements like that are only going to worsen your case, and possibly extend the block. I'm trying really really hard to assume good faith but it's getting really hard... DA made a mistake and he fixed it... I really don't see what the big deal is, your correction is live for all the world to see.
- Anyhow, if you read en.wiki a lot but you never have to change anything that means we must be doing something right ;). We have social mechanisms in place to weed out those who aren't genuinely here to build an encyclopedia, and maybe you got hit with a few too many of those (including mine, a truly inadvertent one) today. But then, if you're not that serious you're not that serious. Cheers. Crazynas t 11:46, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- Eh, if they extend the ban then so be it. A 1-day ban isn't worth sockpuppeting, but if it gets extended, then I suppose I won't have to wait until tomorrow to get back to seeking that apology. The big deal, though, is that I can't believe that DA refuses to apologize, even though it would have saved several hours of aggravation for multiple people now, and would only have taken him a few seconds to do. 76.119.75.131 (talk) 11:52, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPs_are_human_too I'll just leave this here. 76.119.75.131 (talk) 12:12, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
- While it is true that IP edits should be taken on their own merits the same as those made by registered accounts, it is also true that in most cultures attempting to force someone to apologize to you is considered extremely rude and even humiliating. There is also a convention on Wikipedia of letting go of petty disputes. There's no point in continuing to try and force an apology, it seems unlikely you are going to get opne and continuing to insist on it will only make you look like a troll. Best to move on when your block expires. Just some free advice to take or leave as you please. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:29, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Favonian (talk) 13:19, 11 October 2011 (UTC)- Fine, If you'd rather I just keep changing my IP address until I get what's owed to me, then so be it. 76.119.75.131 (talk) 13:41, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- You do realize that you have now re-cast yourself as the obsessed-with-revenge-villain and not the aggrieved hero in this little drama don't you? All you are going to get if you continue this crusade, under any identity, is more blocks. Perhaps if you had pursued proper channels of dispute resolution things wouldn't have wound up like this, I don't know, but continuing to demand the apology, whether you were initially owed it or not, only makes you look like a troll. For your own sake I again urge you to let it go and move on. Or you can become a WP:LTA headcase and get sitebanned. Then every edit you ever make will be reverted regardless of its merit by anyone who sees it, and you will be denied all avenues of appeal. Your choice. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:21, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
