Greetings from the United Federation of Planets

I noticed you have been reverting vandalism efficently and impressively. Judging from the text below I can tell that your IP was also used to vandalise wikipedia. Hence it is imperative for us, co vandal fighters to identify eachother, perhaps the best way to do so is to get an account. Wikipedia:Why create an account? exlpains more reasons. Regardless, I recomend the usage of tools that will assist you in your efforts in reverting vandalism. irc://irc.freenode.net/wikipedia-en-vandalism is one of the tools another one is WP:CDVF.

Additionaly I feel you would make a fine member of the Wikipedia:Counter Vandalism Unit.

Please keep up the great work. --Cool Cat Talk 01:26, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

As far as I know all the "Vandalism warnings" were accedents on their or my part. For the duration of this page's existence it's been mine. 68.39.174.238 01:29, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

Old stuff

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - RoyBoy 800 07:30, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

By vandalize, are you referring to Pinochet? I'm trying to work out the changes to that articel with Kissinger on that talk page. 68.39.174.238 07:34, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Apologies, confused you with another anon (67.53.35.185). - RoyBoy 800 07:35, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Ah, I've been reverting some of his quackery on HIV and carpal tunnel syndrome, if that who I think it is... 68.39.174.238 07:42, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

You mind reading the Pinochet page before keep changing it??, i made a better version of what the coup was about. Check the last version before yelling "vandalism"

Sorry about the mistake. I still couldn't figure out your edits to Template:Vandal though. -- Curps 00:21, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Check out how the Communism vandal's links look, specifically the page moves and block log links for usernames that have spaces in them. They don't work at all, and I was attempting to remedy that. Thanx 68.39.174.238 00:24, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
Ah, that's an old problem. Just use underscores instead of spaces. It ought to work with spaces too, but templates are a bit primitive. -- Curps 00:26, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Romanian grammar

Dear 68.39.174.238, the article on Romanian grammar is just now being edited, as was indicated by the {{editing}} label. Please have the courtesy to wait until I finish writing it, and afterwards feel free to check it out and modify it if you believe there is anything wrong. The section on the nouns that you reinserted is available as a separate article, Romanian nouns, on which I am now working. I am going to make a short version of this article and place it as a section in the main article, Romanian grammar, where it belongs. For any questions, write to me. --AdiJapan 06:56, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

For the record, you did that when Mr. Treason, or someone acting like him, was screwing around with many pages, and since pages dealing with minorites like to get vandalized alot, I suspected one of his cohorts or someone else was doing it. 68.39.174.238 07:04, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

WARN

For the record, that was done to test whether or not the bot in Cool Carts vandal channel was working. I deliberately picked an out of the way page so not too many people would see it. 68.39.174.238 21:57, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

account and reverting

Why before you revert argument "blanking" (copyrighted?) you get an account first? It's more easy talk about and we get a consensus. --Mateusc 01:46, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

I didn't understand that. Which reversion are you talking about? I've done several. The only copyright violation I've flagged today was 4X computer games, which I think was a legitimate flag. 68.39.174.238 01:50, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

Hmm...

That's a first for me...I've never seen an IP add a WoW tag before! I hope you're one of the good IPs around here :-) --HappyCamper 03:27, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

I regularly do that. Blocking them is part of it, but tagging them is also of importance. I can't do one so I do the other. 68.39.174.238 03:32, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Ah I see. Well, your work is quite appreciated here. Why don't you get an account? :-) --HappyCamper 16:46, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

Warnings

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

anon editing

Hey, thanks for all of the reverts you do. Although some would say get an account, as above, I don't have a problem with anonymous users, nor does Jimbo in my experience. One request though, would you mind creating a userpage, one that says something like "this user prefers to edit anonymously" so that it doesn't show up as a redlink in RC. If not, thats cool too. Thanks. «»Who?¿?meta 21:55, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

HeHe. The 2 times I've had a userpage, one was by Treason and got deleted before I even saw it and the other was someone going == Heading == ===Sub-Heading=== ====Sub-sub-heading==== 68.39.174.238 21:57, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
hehe. That's pretty sad :) I'm sure if you created it, it wouldn't get deleted, since I'm assuming this is a static IP, there are several other users who have well known static IPs with userpages. Oh well, worth a shot. cheers. «»Who?¿?meta 21:59, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
It's semi-static: So long as I don't change by MAC addr or drop offline for TOO terribly long Comcast'll keep this one for me. 68.39.174.238 22:03, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
How about archiving this talk page? How often do you want that to occur? --HappyCamper 22:04, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
? 68.39.174.238 22:10, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
As in making a sub-page like /archive to cleanup this page, or just deleting it, granted that's not archiving, but a record is still there. Just makes it easier for you and everyone to read the latest comments. You could always put the same note up top about not wanting to create an account, so you don't get bombarded with the same messages again. «»Who?¿?meta 22:14, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi I see that you reverted a lot of vandalism and I also see that some wikipedians want you to make a username. About David Miller

Thank you for asking. I'm having a bit of trouble with my editing. I'm trying to correct a situation where whenever I look up for David Miller, the singer, I end up with David Miller the politician. Could you please make it so that whenever someone types David Miller, the first page shown is the singer, who is an international opera and pop star, and not a local politician in Canada?

Oh, hello, I just saw everything is fine now. Thanks for putiing that "...." thing for deletion.

Right now I'm redirecting some links of that politician that are leading towards the singer, so that there's no confussion.

I just received your message, thanks for the advice. I think it's much better if the David Miller page led directly to a disambiguation page.

Okay, I got it, I'll try what you suggest right now.Rosameliamartinez 05:39, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Hello again. Here's the situation. Now there's a page called David Miller and another one called David Miller (singer) with the same content, so wikipedia won't let me move the page called David Miller. What can I do so that David Miller doesn't refer to the singer or anyone else but goes directly to a disambiguation page?ByeRosameliamartinez 05:47, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
