[edit]I replaced the greek letters sacred to the fraternity with the English equivalent. Please enlighten me how that is a serious issue that couldn't be fixed with providing a link to what the greek alphabet is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.185.138.152 (talk) 22:33, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
- The article does explain that the letters are only used in limited cases by fraternity members, but Wikipedia is not a member of your fraternity. You do not have any right to limit what others type based on these beliefs. Wikipedia is not censored, and Wikipedia is not a part of your fraternity, so Wikipedia should not be used as a platform for enforcing your fraternity's beliefs. These letters may be sacred to you, but they are also letters in an alphabet, as far as Wikipedia is concerned. Since the goal of Wikipedia is to provide information to everyone (not just members of one single fraternity) we provide this information for informational purposes. These letters are derived from the name of the fraternity, and appear on the front of fraternity buildings. Sacred doesn't mean secret, nor is this privileged information, and you should not attempt to control other people's speech in this situation. Grayfell (talk) 23:09, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
