Please see talk:Lateralization of brain function. The paper by Levy, Reis, and Grafman seems to say that failure of a certain part of the brain causes dyscalculia. To make a great big leap all the way from there to the conclusion that mathematics is done by that part of the brain is too much. Mathematics is NOT THE SAME THING AS numerical calculation. And even if that part of the brain were shown to be necessary for mathematics, it does not follow that some parts of the right brain are not also necessary for mathematics. The broadness of science and it's many sub-catogories derived from it's autonomity, were meant to be pertained in respect to the concepts of contrast and/or comparison. As you state, the reasonable/logical properties of mathematics can be attributed to both sides of the corpus.
