2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix:

[edit]

Only in this race do we have to report stewards name in the citation? I don't see it for the 21 other races...--Island92 (talk) 13:16, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Every citation should be as complete as possible. Stewards are officially credited as authors of FIA documents and their names should be included in citations to appropriately credit the creators and identify the origins of the information. If other citations are incomplete, that's not a valid reason to remove information from a complete citation. 5225C (talk • contributions) 13:19, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all. It seems you took care of this one, but the rest of them? There's this dicrepancy now.--Island92 (talk) 13:24, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And? Why is this discrepancy harmful? Are you saying 1 complete citation and 21 incomplete is worse than having 22 incomplete? I'll expand all of them if you really want me to. 5225C (talk • contributions) 13:27, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I would appreciate that 100%. At this point these 22 entry lists should be completed all as this one for Abu Dhabi.--Island92 (talk) 13:30, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Island92: with all due respect, you are being unreasonable. If you have a problem with citation completeness, the onus is on you to fix it. SSSB (talk) 13:36, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB: The concistency is important. Personally, I don't like having a source different to other 21.--Island92 (talk) 13:38, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Island92: then it's on you to bring the other 21 up to the same standard. Bringing one source down to a worse level is WP:DISRUPTIVE. Insisting that another editor brings them up to the same standard isn't helpful - this is a volunteer project, after all. SSSB (talk) 13:41, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB: Basically, was a 5225C's offer to have them with the same standard, not mine. Just said I would appreciate that whether he did it.--Island92 (talk) 13:43, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will expand all citations on race reports this season, but please take note of SSSB's point: having one better than the others doesn't mean it needs to be taken down to a lower standard. Consistency is not as important as quality, we should have consistently good articles (and citations), not consistently bad ones. 5225C (talk • contributions) 13:47, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, it's important they are on the same level of information given into the citation.--Island92 (talk) 13:53, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
