Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, 44is8bound, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Poo Bear, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 21:56, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

[edit]

The "recommended practice" when it comes to editing pages that are about yourself is:

  • You can remove harmful material, including things like false ages, if it is not backed up by a reliable source. However, if reliable sources say you were born on a certain date, don't remove it, even if it is wrong.
  • You can request additions or other changes by using the {{requested edit}} template on the article's talk page. You must have a reliable, independent source to back up the requested change. See WP:Your first article for links to helpful topics, including the definition of a reliable source and the definition of an independent source.

More information on how to keep your own autobiography up to date without running into problems can be found at WP:Conflict of interest and WP:Biography of living persons. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 22:01, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday

[edit]

You recently added a specific date of birth to Poo Bear. Do you have any published secondary sources, such as a newspaper or magazine article or even a 1979 newspaper birth announcement, that could be used to verify the date? While a birth announcement is acceptable, a source that includes the date of birth along with the nickname "Poo Bear" or that clearly indicates it is talking about the music-professional named Jason Boyd would be much better. When it comes to living people, Wikipedia is more strict than they normally are when it comes to being able to verify things people might question, including dates of birth. By the way, primary sources, such as government documents, medical records, and the like are not suitable. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 22:06, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
