Reviewing admin comment: I don't really see how this is objectionable. "Gonads" is a silly, but not inherently offensive name. Sandstein 07:01, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, we don't allow balls, bollocks, cock or any of the many other different words for human reproductive organs and I think we'd see a lot of people querying why "gonads" was allowed but their username wasn't. I've requested further input at WP:RFCN#Gonads3. Gonads3, if you have a statement you'd like to make, you can add it below and I or someone else will copy it over for you. - Thanks for the swift feedback. Although I wouldn't put this username in quite the same class as the words you use, I do see the point you make. If indeed others agree that it is a violation of the username policy, please suggest a way forward. Perhaps Template:Uw-ublock has the answer, but I feel this would remove something from me, something akin to having my birth name forcibly changed. The outcome of this introduction as a non-anonymous user will indeed aid me in understanding the differences of interpretation. Thanks again for your time. I hope we can move on just as swiftly. - Well, I've started a discussion as to the appropriateness of the name. I'm glad you see my point of view- contrary to popular opinion, administrators are human, too! If the discussion says the username should be allowed, you can keep it and you'll be unblocked and that should be the last you hear about your username. If not, then you can create another account or request a bureaucrat change your username so you can keep this account and your edits so far.
