File permission problem with File:Audible Minority album session.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Audible Minority album session.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. DYK for Tunnel Rats (music group)
On 11 June 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Tunnel Rats (music group), which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that on the album Tunnel Vision, Tunnel Rats leader Dax Reynosa responded to claims that his group was too aggressive with the line "I pull a pistol out my pocket and I cock it"? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

What do you think of the Christian music community starting an article such as, 2014 in Christian music? They have them for both hip hop and country, so I don't know why we can have one for the Christian music market.HotHat (talk) 06:31, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

Stuff
Well, I just put something on Charmaine's deletion discussion that closes the door 100-percent and confirms Notability. So, I must say this was quite the endeavor by us and Mr. Gorlitz. Well, I am sorry that we have some disagreements, but we genuinely try working them out for the betterment of this encyclopedia. I understand about the usages of acclaim, acclamation and praise that they have to be backed up by a source to avoid PEACOCK words. You make me a better editor on here by your criticism, so keep it coming, whenever it is needed of course.HotHat (talk) 16:28, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Metallica image
Hello. I've noticed that you have returned the old Metallica image. I've originally omitted it because I think an image of the band actually performing would better fit the article. The alternatives you've offered, photos of Slayer and Anthrax, won't do the job because we need a picture of the band explained in the caption. It would be nice if you can find a photo with a higher resolution, but till then, I believe the previous one would serve better.--Retrohead (talk) 15:25, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- I meant change the description, too.--¿3family6 contribs 15:58, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- By the way, would you mind leaving a comment at the review page?--Retrohead (talk) 18:54, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- I don't know if I can, seeing as I contributed to the article. I'm also going to add some more bands to the list, so that further creates a COI problem. I can comment, but I cannot support or oppose.--¿3family6 contribs 19:14, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- Nevermind the FAC invitation (haven't noticed that you contributed to the page). Please see if you can add some other bands there.--Retrohead (talk) 19:18, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Excuse me for being a boring nerd, but I think the current image caption is partially repeating with the second sentence from the prose. As far as I understood you, you don't mind which band is illustrated as long as the photo is in high quality. That said, can I revert to the first Metallica image with a description of their complex song structures?--Retrohead (talk) 22:03, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think a certain amount of redundancy is fine, but I don't care one way or the other. I just want to make sure that the pic is a high quality one. You could just as well change the description to note how Anthrax broke away from the traditional thrash metal sound (like the previous description for Metallica said) by adding influences from hip-hop and alternative metal.--¿3family6 contribs 22:08, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of thrash metal bands, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Deuteronomium and As I Lay Dying (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

List of thrash metal bands
Hi. Can you avoid using "early" as a time navigation? In that case, it would be logical to place the same tag next to Metallica and Anthrax. And one more thing, incorporating death metal bands who intended to play thrash before they formed is not a good inclusion [1]. Another act described as "melodic progressive black metallers" (whatever genre that is) who only played a "mix of thrash and death" on one LP won't do it either.--Retrohead (talk) 17:55, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

VisualEditor global newsletter—June 2014
Did you know?
The VisualEditor team is mostly working to fix bugs, improve performance, reduce technical debt, and other infrastructure needs. You can find on Mediawiki.org weekly updates detailing recent work.
- They have moved the "Keyboard shortcuts" link out of the "Page options" menu, into the "Help" menu. Within dialog boxes, buttons are now more accessible (via the Tab key) from the keyboard.
- You can now see the target of the link when you click on it, without having to open the inspector.
- The team also expanded TemplateData: You can now add a parameter type "
date"
for dates and times in the ISO 8601 format, and "boolean"
for values which are true or false. Also, templates that redirect to other templates (like{{citeweb}}

) now get the TemplateData of their target (bug 50964). You can test TemplateData by editing mw:Template:Sandbox/doc. - Category: and File: pages now display their contents correctly after saving an edit (bug 65349, bug 64239)
- They have also improved reference editing: You should no longer be able to add empty citations with VisualEditor (bug 64715), as with references. When you edit a reference, you can now empty it and click the "use an existing reference" button to replace it with another reference instead.
- It is now possible to edit inline images with VisualEditor. Remember that inline images cannot display captions, so existing captions get removed. Many other bugs related to images were also fixed.
- You can now add and edit
{{DISPLAYTITLE}}

in the "Page options" menu, rounding out the full set of page options currently planned. - The tool to insert special characters is now wider and simpler.
Looking ahead
The VisualEditor team has posted a draft of their goals for the next fiscal year. You can read them and suggest changes on MediaWiki.org.
The team posts details about planned work on VisualEditor's roadmap. You will soon be able to drag-and-drop text as well as images. If you drag an image to a new place, it won't let you place it in the middle of a paragraph. All dialog boxes and windows will be simplified based on user testing and feedback. The VisualEditor team plans to add autofill features for citations. Your ideas about making referencing quick and easy are still wanted. Support for upright image sizes is being developed. The designers are also working on support for viewing and editing hidden HTML comments and adding rows and columns to tables.

DYK for Knock Madness
On 25 June 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Knock Madness, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that according to hip-hop artist Hopsin, his album Knock Madness was inspired by dissatisfaction with life and a need to "find" himself? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Knock Madness. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Some more stuff
Dear editor 3family6, I just created Hope in Front of Me by Danny Gokey. On another note, I am thinking of putting up for deletion Southern Tracks and Carry Me Home by Third Day, but I am requesting your opinion on the matter first before I go ahead.HotHat (talk) 07:31, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- VERY nice!--¿3family6 contribs 13:01, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- Also, I just created Forever After by V. Rose.HotHat (talk) 13:04, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- HotHat I couldn't find anything for Carry Me Home except the JFH review - go ahead and nominate that one. For Southern Tracks, I found the following: [2], [3].--¿3family6 contribs 13:32, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Another tiresome proposal
I hope you'll do what you can to whip up some enthusiasm for Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#3family6_made_me_do_it. I'm tired of being the guy making all the dead-on-arrival proposals. EEng (talk) 19:17, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

The Rambling Man
You may want to see my comment on the DYK talk page.HotHat (talk) 03:55, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- I have to say I lean toward The Rambling Man on this one - I found your arguments tenuous and difficult to follow. I know that TRM can be brash and borderline disruptive at times, but I really couldn't figure out what your complaint with them was.--¿3family6 contribs 21:27, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
Hillsong
Thank you for your support, any ongoing assistance is greatly appreciated.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:43, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- You're welcome. I'm happy to give up my day to do this (and I mean that not only in sarcasm).--¿3family6 contribs 22:45, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think your continuing efforts in these articles have shown the merit in my challenging many of the PRODs. You have saved more articles with your effort. I also have to thank you for clarifying the difference between Cross Rhythms and the two refs I supplied at Overwhelmed.
- I would like further clarification for my further search for RS candidates at ccm/s which are usuable for .au: At Oceans EP AfD you give a ref at Cross Rhythms here, how is this better than advertising at, say, Koorong, here for Overwhelmed? The two seem very similar to my uneducated eye.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:04, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- The Koorong review is explicitly for the purpose of advertising the album - it appears only in the product listing. The CR news item, while unattributed, is by the CR news division, not the CR store. Yes, there is a link to the store, but 1) the link is for that artist in general, not the particular album, 2) the news item is written in a neutral manner, and 3) the news item is not a product listing, unlike the Koorong source. Koorong is intentionally trying to advertise the album, the Cross Rhythms article is merely letting you know that the Cross Rhythms Store has products by that artist. Can you see the difference?--¿3family6 contribs 00:56, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the further explanation, I see the distinction now. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find other .au RS to support the early Hillsong oeuvre.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 07:18, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

ARIA certs? I should have looked through these earlier: its their home country. Also some of their early material is under Hills Christian Life Centre and I was searching per 'Hillsong' and so missed these. I'm now going year by year and using Hills in the find window.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 00:31, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks, I was just curious. You have rescued many a notable album. I have no problem with an album being deleted if it is not notable, but it needs to be demonstrated that an album isn't notable.--¿3family6 contribs 00:37, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
Re: Hills Praise is Experiencing Worship a RS? i.e. Is this review editorial and not advertising? As for an ARIA cert: they only list those awarded from 1997+, so earlier releases may not be listed at ARIA's website.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:19, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- I don't know about Experiencing Worship itself, but this is a promotional/advertising style review, and I don't see any author attributed to it.--¿3family6 contribs 01:24, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'll go with your experience (pardon the bad pun) in such matters. What about here for an archive of CCM Record Reviews? This claims the magazine has rated/reviewed numerous Hillsong albums. The Hills Praise review is not authored.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:32, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Who did the original review?--¿3family6 contribs 01:37, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- This archive site doesn't give that detail. It claims the review was published in April 1998, a wayback machine search of CCM Online only goes back to January 1999, while one at ht.salemweb.net only goes back to 2001 pdfs.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:46, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, so it's quoting excerpts from CCM Magazine? If it is indeed a quote from CCM Magazine, you should probably mention that on the deletion debate, so that we at least know that the review is out there.--¿3family6 contribs 02:16, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- It claims to be citing from CCM but I'm not sure of Paul Ganney/ganney.net site's status wrt rs. It doesn't give a page number for the review, but can the review be used as an offline source? Ganney seems to run a fanzine and claims to have published numerous works.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 03:07, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

I wouldn't use it as a source in the article, but you should mention it on the deletion page as it indicates that there is a print review in existence (per WP:Verifiability, sources need not be in an article, they only need exist).--¿3family6 contribs 12:57, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

DYK for Coloman, King of Hungary
On 30 June 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Coloman, King of Hungary, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that an account in the Illuminated Chronicle holds that King Coloman of Hungary (pictured) ordered the castration of his nephew, the future Béla II, but the soldier assigned the task brought him dog testicles instead? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Hope in Front of Me
I said that because the editor put pop music akin to CCM for a genre in the infobox not for pop rock, but on that subject see if you can confirm pop rock by sources. I think that I may have put that their by mistake, so check it out, will you? Thanks,HotHat (talk) 15:29, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
So, I take it Christian pop should be listed instead of CCM if you want pop in the genre field.HotHat (talk) 17:36, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- That should work, yes! I don't think I actually saw CCM listed anywhere. :)--¿3family6 contribs 17:37, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
