NaSTA best male awards
[edit]Hi, i am writing to discuss the removal of the best male award winner from National student television article. It is just that we recognize awards given out by NaSTA, these people have gone on to make careers in the media and all that is happening is wikipedia is reporting the facts. It might not be something of massive world wide note but it is still an award worked for and has every right to be reported in that way. I would like to see the deletion reverted Cheers Xrateddan (talk) 10:44, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
I'm afraid I still disagree. Yes, winning a NaSTA and succeeding in the media is impressive. However, in the field of student TV this is unfortunately not uncommon. Many mainstream TV presenters came up via student TV whilst at University or college. That's not including the countless award winning writers, producers and those involved in post-production that cut their teeth in student TV. I maintain that due to its regularity, winning a NaSTA is not sufficiently noteworthy compared to an Academy Award. Mjohnson553 (talk) 12:03, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
You are invited to the first ever Oxford Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Four Candles, 51 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BE on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 1.00 pm.
I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Oxford related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you.
