Reporting_large_ratios 120dB SPL example
[edit]i changed "trillion" to "million" and I insist that's right for SPL: L=20log(p/20μPa). If L=120dB then p/20μPa=1000000 and p=20Pa which is pain threshold for human. user Dondervogel 2 says Dondervogel says "you're confusing pressure with intensity (10^6 times pressure corresponds to 10^12 times intensity) - if that's not clear, take it to talk" I' pretty sure I'm right about SPL (Sound Pressure Level) formula. if we a talking about dB in acoustics - power decibels and pressure decibels formulas are different (10log for power and intensity vs 20log for pressure) so I understand where misunderstanding starts - "SPL" and "intensity" shouldn't be used in one sentence. 120dBSPL=1 000 000 120dBSIL=1 000 000 000 000 [1] [2] 37.214.77.175 (talk) 20:42, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
