The RfC is over. But you raised an important point to which I cannot respond in the RfC because the discussion has been closed. You wrote that since Cristo's goal is to "get their students to become college-graduated leaders" then Cristo does not "address poverty". You seem to believe that only giving money to the poor "addresses poverty". That would be very surprising news to the many people who offer education to poor folks, sometimes pro bono too. It would also be a great surprise to the poor folks who are their students. Money is not the be-all and end-all, and you're taking this from an economist! :-) Getting poor young persons to become college educated (and, moreover, aiming to make them "leaders") means the institution aims to help poorer folks towards a better life. This is "addressing poverty"; hence, the organization is poverty related. Take care. -The Gnome (talk) 09:42, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
