Your submission at Articles for creation: Arnold J. Sameroff (psychologist) (March 6)
[edit]To start with, First, he clearly does meet the relevant guideline, WP:PROF (the Presidency of the Soc. Child Development & the honorary degree are sufficient) , and most likely also the guideline WP:CREATIVE, assuming there are reviews of his books that can be added as references.
But the critical problem is that this article shows clear signs of having been copied from a pre-existing publication. This is not permitted, and the article must be rewritten from scratch. The give-away is the ... in the middle of the 2nd part of the career section, in connection with the formatting problems. In rewriting, try for a simpler style. And remember that any statement of quality or praise , such as "a foundational study" must be referenced to a third party reliable source; WP does not make judgments, but presents the plain facts.
We generally do not reject AfCs for minor formatting errors we can fix ourselves. (It is true that paragraph indentation messing up the formatting code & must be fixed, and sections need to be added, but this takes a minute or two for any reviewer to do themselves. It is not the case that the footnote numbering scheme was unacceptable--any clear method is satisfactory, though the one advised is the usual. == see WP:FOOTNOTE ) There remains a style problem of more significance--we make relevant hyperlinks -- see WP:LINK for an explanation. I normally add these if the user does not, but their absence in this text, along with the initial failure to follow our basic formatting, further demonstrates that the material was copied , not written in our style as original text for WP. . We call this WP:COPYPASTE, and is not the way to write an article.
When you have finished rewriting, please let me know on my talk page, and I will give an quick review. I very frequently work with this type of article.
