Chengdu J-10 edit and use of sockpuppet IP addresses.

[edit]

Your reasoning for changing the heading section of the Chengdu J-10 is insufficient.

1. You claim there are plenty of sources support the claim. Then please present the claim with a proper reference from reliable news website or think tanks. The article fourth generation fighter does not have the reference you mentioned to support the 4.5gen designation you claimed. Wikipedia is not a proper and reliable source.

2. The article covers all variants of the J-10 series, meaning even if I give you the benefit of the doubt, confirming J-10C variant is a 4.5 generation fighter, does not mean Chengdu J-10 as a whole is 4.5 gen. Case in point, F-15 is a fourth generation fighter, while F-15EX is an upgrade (4.5 gen), and a variant of the original F-15. However, wiki article discussing F-15 will not claim the whole aircraft family is 4.5, because some variants do not meet the 4.5 standard. Chengdu J-10 is the article title, and the first sentence of the article says: “The Chengdu J-10 Vigorous Dragon (Chinese: 歼-10 猛龙; pinyin: Jiān-10 Měnglóng; NATO reporting name: Firebird), is a medium-weight, fourth-generation, single-engine, multirole combat aircraft using a delta wing and canard design”. Nowhere in this sentence mentions J-10C, why are you insisting on changing the overview of the whole aircraft family with the classification of a single variant?

3. if you want to add 4.5 gen designation. I suggest you add it in the Variants section, and with propoer, reliable sources. Arguing with me that there are “plenty of sources on the internet” in edit summary does not make your edit reliable.

4. do not spam unsourced edits and constantly chasing IPs. Sockpuppetry is against Wikipedia policy. —-Loned (talk) 01:17, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
