[edit]

Hello, I'm Tony Tan. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Maskell, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Tony Tan · talk 08:43, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
What makes you believe he is a living person? You are not using your tools properly. Also - this is what he is notable for. I am thus going to revert to the proper edit. --2604:2000:E010:1100:F1D5:1604:1B50:2036 (talk) 08:43, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally, just because someone's dead doesn't mean BLP doesn't apply. It's somewhat misnamed in that regard. -- a lad insane (channel two) 08:48, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He used tools saying - incorrectly - that his revert was due to how we write about "living people." You said it. Using tools. It is not true. If you use tools in this way, you will lose the right to use them. 2604:2000:E010:1100:F1D5:1604:1B50:2036 (talk) 08:50, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And you just left an incomprehensible edit summary. NPOV does not apply. This is what he is clearly notable for. As reflected in RSs. Once can't just play scrabble with words and think it a proper edit summary. Please revert yourself. Or let's find admins to review your use of Twinkle for this. 2604:2000:E010:1100:F1D5:1604:1B50:2036 (talk) 08:52, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You go right ahead finding an admin to do that. I said NPOV because it's not NPOV to lead someone's description with an unambiguously negative accusation. Innocent until proven nocent. -- a lad insane (channel two) 08:58, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Of course innocent until proven guilty. But show me something in NPOV that says that someone notable for something - dead, here - should have what they are notable for stripped out of a list of notables. Where is the basis for your assertion in NPOV -- seriously? And you are using tools - that comes with responsibility. (We can't just make stuff up. And IDONTLIKEIT is not a wikipedia rule). 2604:2000:E010:1100:F1D5:1604:1B50:2036 (talk) 09:03, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
