[edit]Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Category:January 6 United States Capitol attack, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. - Thanks for your enthusiasm in editing on Wikipedia. However, before you do anymore categorization edits, I would recommend that you familiarize yourself with the guidelines at WP:CATEGORY; specifically WP:CATSPECIFIC. Categories are not "meta tags"; they are hierarchies, so for most instances, you would not add a category to an article if that article already is in a subcategory in that tree. Additionally, the article content has to support the categorization. So just because you might "feel" something is a terrorist incident, the article content has to support that fact with cited sources in order to support categorizing it as such. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
