1998 Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa attack
[edit]In your recent edit to this article, you added an assertion that Dr. Rogachevsky disagrees with the Boston Globe account of this attack, and that the itinerary was adequately planned in advance. Certainly if there is an account from a reliable source disagreeing with the Globe, that should be included in the article. However the problem is that no reliable source has been provided. Per WP:BLP we should not include information about Dr. Rogachevsky, or any other living person, without a reliable source. Some type of reference for this assertion--even if only a link to a verified personal website or a web page at his college--is needed to back up the assertion that Dr. Rogachevsky did say this. Absent such a reference, I may end up removing this quote after a reasonable time period.Dash77 (talk) 20:43, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- Absent a reference or any other follow-up after a week, I've gone ahead and removed this quote per WP:BLP. It remains plausible that Dr. Rogachevsky might have said this, but we cannot allow direct quotes from people, especially living people, that aren't properly referenced. If a proper reference documenting that Dr. Rogachevsky said this can be found (I looked and didn't find anything) we can of course reinstate this change. Dash77 (talk) 14:54, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
