Blocked
[edit]If you are not the intended target of this block, please read the information below in order to receive assistance.
IP users (without an account): If you do not have an account and wish to bypass this block, an account can be created to allow you to edit. In general, these blocks only prevent users who are not logged in from editing; once you are logged in, the block will no longer affect you in any way. To request an account, simply click here and follow the directions provided on the page. It is important that you use an e-mail address issued to you by your ISP, school, or organisation, so we may verify that you are a legitimate user. When filling out the account request form, please refer to this block in the "comments" input field. If you've been instructed to request an account via email, please refer to this block in your message.
Registered users (with an account): Please make sure you are logged in to your account. If you are unable to edit while logged in, you may request IP block exemption to bypass blocks unconnected with you that affect your editing. Post an unblock request to your user talk page.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:
Why has this block been extended from 1 week to 1 month? I'm a technology teacher, and I wanted to do a unit on Wikipedia editing with one of my classes. However, I can't edit nor create an account due to this block. Collateral damage to the extreme is what we have here!
Decline reason:
Please take your love of bridges elsewhere.
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
I have done absolutely nothing to trigger the CheckUser filter. This is a shared Xfinity address and therefore should not be being blocked for months at a time.
Decline reason:
Block extended to reflect this ISP's allocation characteristics. Elockid Message me 21:28, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Request reason:
When Elockid says "you" above, I'm assuming he means "whoever has been using this IP address". However, as I said above, I personally have done nothing to trigger the CheckUser filter. Xfinity/Comcat addressess are almost always shared to the best of my knoweledge, and therefore may explain why there was "disruption" from this network. On the bad side, these large shared networks should not be being blocked for months or years at a time, since they can impact innocent users (like me) who are unable to create an account due to the block. Therefore, I will continue to appeal, either here and/or via the Unblock Ticket Request System until someone provides some real advice.
Decline reason:
Multiple Checkusers have confirmed your claims are false. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:31, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Discussion & Comments A
[edit]@Elockid: What exactly do you mean by "sticky dynamic ISP" and "this ISP's allocation characteristics"? 24.63.116.248 (talk) 23:30, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- Sticky dynamic IP address. Elockid Message me 23:36, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Elockid: You gave a sticky IP as the reason for extending the block. How does that trigger the contents of WP:BLOCK? 24.63.116.248 (talk) 00:15, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Because the block is preventative. Since this is a sticky-dynamic IP and you have been disruptive for quite some time, the length of the block is made to match in accordance to which I believe the disruption will continue. Elockid Message me 00:32, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- You're pretty much wrong about all your information. There is no collateral. This has been confirmed by another CheckUser. Even if there was collateral, that would be within one's resident/household and in which case WP:BROTHER would apply. Elockid Message me 01:40, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Discussion & Comments B
[edit]@Mike V: Why did you extend this block that is causing major collateral damage? I'm a school teacher and wanted to teach my students in my tdchnology class about Wikipedia, but can't because of this block. What's the reason for extending it from 1 week to 1 month? 24.63.116.248 (talk) 22:06, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- This IP has been used abusively. It will not be unblocked. There is no collateral damage here. Mike V • Talk 14:21, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If you have already appealed to the Unblock Ticket Request System and been declined you may appeal to the Arbitration Committee's Ban Appeals Subcommittee.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
