Information icon Hello, I'm Egsan Bacon. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Jimmy Lai seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. I believe there are similar issues with this user’s edits to Apple Daily, specifically with additions of the word “xenophobia”, which seem to originate from a June 1, 2024, edit and remains in the current version. I myself am not well-versed in Wikipedia protocols and etiquette (e.g. reverts, semi-protect, etc.) so haven’t done anything, but could you please take a look and take appropriate action to maintain neutrality? Thanks! Rubixmann (talk) 12:20, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The use of “xenophobia” is moreover cause for confusion because it appears the user is writing as if the paper were written/controlled by non-Chinese parties, being xenophobic to/against Chinese people. As opposed to the more rational interpretation, as I initially read it: if this Hong Kong-based newspaper were described as “xenophobic”, that would imply it would be anti-West, anti-US, anti-Japan, etc.
At the risk of veering into speculation, this user’s edits seem to me politically motivated by pro-China/CCP interests to portray the paper in a negative/anti-China light. Rubixmann (talk) 12:34, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
