What is Radyr?

[edit]

I cannot get a feel for the village from what is here at the moment. Is it a friendly place? What are the shops like and how many are there? Is it urban housing estates or does it feel like a traditional village? - I am not suggesting a travelogue but through the encylopedic entry I want the soul of the place to shine through and leap off the screen at me 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 00:05, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken some photos of the shops and have access to all the back issues of the 'Radyr Chain' parish magazine so there is no shortage of material - and I have the book 'memories of Raryr & Morganstown' which is full of referencable facts. Is it worth e expanding the landmark buildings, such as the Cheshire Home at Danybryn? Tony (talk) 19:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A Cheshire home?....hell yes....it would need a whole section of its own. I had a Lancaster print on my bedroom wall signed by Leonard Cheshire...but when I had my stroke and became suddenly medically retired in 2004....I had to sell it on Ebay to pay the mortgage for three months 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 19:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Got loads of info about this and other historic buildings in Radyr - should they be all under a new section called something like 'notable buildings'? Tony (talk) 20:06, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Depends, not sure....run the stuff up and bang it into the bottom of history and I will have a look at it then 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 20:12, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hawk wind weed

[edit]

If I lived in Radyr I would be out walking in the woodlands and around the quarry every weekend hunting for the little yellow plants. To find further colonies would be just awesome. 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 02:09, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We were quite excited to find it just where it was descrbed to be - and when I can I'm going to the National Botanical Gardens to see if I can photograph their specimens. Tony (talk) 19:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Umm, would the owners allow you to have some seeds in the Autumn to propogate a new colony? 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 19:29, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
