You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (204.10.132.7) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a new Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! AlexEng(TALK) 00:45, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Regarding "Query" submissions
[edit]Hi there! First of all, welcome to Wikipedia! Your contributions are very much appreciated.
I noticed that in a couple articles such as Dick Wilson (tribal chairman) and Occupation of Alcatraz, you seem to have added a query into the article body. Unfortunately, I have had to remove these queries because they do not belong inside the text of the actual article. If you would like these questions asked and answered, you should use the dedicated discussion pages for these articles at Talk:Occupation of Alcatraz and Talk:Dick Wilson (tribal chairman). Each article on Wikipedia has such a dedicated discussion page ("talk page"). You can use it to submit your queries. In the future, if you have any questions about an article, search the top of your browser screen for the link that says talk. Please feel free to ask me if you have any questions. I am always happy to help. AlexEng(TALK) 00:49, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Adityavagarwal. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Adityavagarwal (talk) 17:41, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Adityavagarwal (talk) 17:49, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, 204.10.132.7. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Young & Rubicam, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Marianna251TALK 19:30, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Mark Wahlberg— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. [edit]204.10.132.7 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) is assigned to Group M Worldwide, LLC (as of 2020). The IP editor has been repeatedly warned about conflict of interest editing. Since 2008, this IP address has worked on articles about VMLY&R, Wunderman Thompson (subsidiary/sister), WPP plc (parent), Tony Granger (WPP executive), shoehorned a mention of Listening Platform (a Wunderman service), and addressed other subjects that are likely clients of the agency. - AppleBsTime (talk) 15:58, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
