I have removed the {{FLC}} template from Talk:2002 NFL Expansion Draft because the process was not completed. If you would like to nominate the article, then please follow the "Nomination procedure" instructions at {{FLC-instructions}}. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 14:44, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Hope you notice that I added more comments to the FLC.--SRX 02:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I am unsure as to why you have marked this as a CopyVio. As it stands most of the templates have been remade (that link to that list) with non-Nielsen information. Nielsen doesn't own a list on Wikipedia, they own the information and why the lists are made, but not a list on Wikipedia. I ask that you bring this before WP:TVS, the TV Station WikiProject for more input. - NeutralHomerTalkWork • October 6, 2008 @ 03:17

I am requesting the US "markets" be removed from the list as this is a list for NORTH AMERICA and Nielsen doesn't control all of North America markets (or any of the US markets, IMO). - NeutralHomerTalkWork • October 8, 2008 @ 04:04
Exactly what is the WP:CP department doing with this list exactly? The list has sat on WP:CP's page for almost 6 days with no one action taken. I'm not understanding what the point in that is. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 11, 2008 @ 04:10
I don't understand why this article has the copyright violation tag either? I thought this issue was already resolved. I also agree that only the U.S.A part should be removed. Nielson doesn't have anything to do with Mexico, Canada, or other parts of North America. Joeloliv8 05:33, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
What Joeloliv8 touched on, and the "powers that be" are understanding" is that the copyvio would only fall on the US section, not the entire page. If you delete the entire page, that is overstepping bounds and giving authority where it doesn't belong. Nielsen has no control over Mexican, Canadian, or Caribbean areas. If it so requires (and I still think it doesn't) removal of the US information and ONLY the US information would be necessary. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 11, 2008 @ 06:16
As I am seeing little, if any, action being taken in this department I have removed the US information, so that the copyright "blockade" template can be removed (which I also removed) and the information for Canada, Mexico and other North American areas outside the US and US Territories can be viewed. - NeutralHomerTalk • October 11, 2008 @ 06:24

←Hi. :) The WP:CP department (insofar as I seem to be one of the few people in it) have been trying to get a definitive answer on this issue. I'm loathe to delete something without being certain that it should be deleted, but I'm not removing the copyright tag until I know that it's not affected by the takedown. That could get get us in trouble. :/ I have sought feedback at WP:AN, from two different admins involved with the first run of deletions and finally here, where I was sent from AN. It seems pretty likely that I'm not getting a further response. If the List of television stations in North America by media market has been addressed, fabulous. List of TV markets and major sports teams in the United States should be rewritten by the Census Bureau's MSAs, it seems. If one of you can to tell me what that means or how to do it, I'd be happy to get it off the queue. I hate having things hang around unresolved. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:14, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh, P.S., with respect to this one, it hasn't been addressed yet because it isn't "ripe". Items are listed at WP:CP for 7 days before handling by an admin. Not that I'd know what to do with it then. :) It would be nice sometimes to have more folks working at WP:CP, but I suspect people would be avoiding that one for the same reason I am. Most of us seem to be just baffled by the whole thing. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
I have now replied at Talk:List_of_television_stations_in_North_America_by_media_market#The_DMA_listing_should_be_restored with further thoughts on the subject. With respect to that article, it may be a good idea to centralize discussion on this article there. Wherever this goes, this whole business is a mess. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

As I've been reprimanded for this before I'll just make note to you that Wikilink's should not be duplicated within an article as you did with the 1969 NFL Draft article / table / list. I have since repaired the edit/s. Please only wikilink first instance or first instance of importance. Happy editing Slysplace talk 01:06, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Regarding the expansion draft pages, put them on your watch list. I hit those a few days ago, or at least formated your tables for you. Not knowing the format your going for or how much data you wish to include I did not want to go too much further. Slysplace talk 21:41, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
I thought that I had all of them watched, but evidently I didn't. Great start on the 1961 table. The one that is by far the most complete is the 2002 NFL Expansion Draft article, it is currently undergoing a feature list review. I guess if I had a format, that would be my model? Although I am open to anything that is uniform across all the draft pages and gets them feature list status eventually. I love football season... :) --User:2008Olympianchitchatseemywork 01:34, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
You should reduce the use of abreviations in the 2002 article, likewise you should set the table widths to 100%. I wont edit 2002 if it's under review but I did do some additional editing to the 1961 vikings article. Also I (personaly) think the alternating colors in the table headings are a bit to much you really should use 1 color for text the other for background like you did in the 61 expansion / vikings page ... just my 2 cents Slysplace talk 01:46, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
The table was at 100%, but a FLC reviewer suggested otherwise. If you would post a comment on the FLC page as to making it 100%, that would help me get a consensus as to how to set the table. I tried a similar color scheme to what was on the Vikings page, but red on dark blue was too hard to read, whereas yellow on purple looked great. On the 1995 and 1976 pages, I used the colors of the two teams that were on the draft.--User:2008Olympianchitchatseemywork 03:51, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

2002 NFL Expansion.... OK so I edited the Original NFL Team col... Couldn't resist ... to many duplicate wikilinks, speaking of which the position column has the same problem. I looked over the review comments and I must say the comments regarding Natural table placement and white space are misleading. In the tables present form the white space is enormous. But then I' have a 21" wide screen display. Did you look at my changes to the 61 expansion? I think the format of the cells was appropriate personally but I've never been considered an authority on consensus. I'm going to resist posting comments on the review for now but I do recommend you reduce the position duplicate links and remove the abbreviations within the table. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Tampa Bay Buccaneers helmet leftface.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tampa Bay Buccaneers helmet leftface.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:25, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

2006 NFL Draft Heisman notes

Just as a point of reference, thought I would point out that you can not use wikipedia as a reference. And your link doesn't format correctly to boot. I suggest you use cite web as in other draft lists as a ref with appropriate link supporting the ref. I'm also curious if you're adding the image for all Heisman winners or just selectivly? Slysplace talk 18:23, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

    • Thanks, those are much better. I would like to add it to all of the draft pages, it just takes time, I have been working backwards. I would like to add a notation for other major trophies: Outland, Lombardi, Butkus, etc., but not all have official icons that can be used.--User:2008Olympianchitchatseemywork 23:13, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
      • I thought I had cited Heisman through the entire series back in august, however it appears I had stopped at 1985. Heisman is done as of today, and I've used your image format as well through the entire modern era although I reduced the image size to 16px so it would keep the tables more consistant. As for the other awards GO FOR IT and include citation! It's a lot of work I know, but worth it. It's taken me months to finish the Hall of famers and I bet I missed more than a few but I do this for the Old timers, pre salary cap, pre premadonna, pre Movie star, the real players and heros who never got the recognition they deserved. Happy editing Slysplace talk 01:53, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
        • Wow, that's awesome. You work fast! Tonight so far I've been working on adding a Notable undrafted players section to the drafts that don't have them, and revamping those that do to a table format that mirrors the other draft rounds. That way, we can see who were undrafted pro bowl and HOF players. Freaking San Diego got three undrafted Pro Bowlers in 2003 alone, (the year my beloved Cowboys got Romo) no wonder they aren't too bad right now!--User:2008Olympianchitchatseemywork 02:03, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

All-Pro

Look man, just because you have come into the discussion doesnt mean all the sudden the All-Pros become changed, prior discussions have agreed that it should be how it is, not the way you think, to say that people agreed overwhelmingly to seprate them is delusional and ridiculous, so dont just start changing them because you think they should be like this.--Yankees10 22:24, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Also NFL.com is the link that has agreed to been used, so stop adding pro football reference.--Yankees10 22:25, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

I'll have to find it, dont start adding it or seperating the All-Pros again and I wont revert your edits until we get this solved--Yankees10 22:31, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
heres the agreement on NFL.com:Template talk:Infobox NFLactive#New NFL.com - to use for stats?--Yankees10 22:34, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
By the way I dont find any place where it says that people agree with seperating the All-Pros--Yankees10 22:37, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Another thing is your not even consistant with how you are displaying it--Yankees10 22:39, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok, but where did you find these because a lot of these are proably sockpuppets of 72.0.36.36--Yankees10 22:55, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok when you seperate them can you at least make them consistant with each other like I did with the Joe Montana and Michael Irvin--Yankees10 23:20, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

I just have one more request, can you put a - between First Team, so it looks like this: First-Team--Yankees10 23:35, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I am currently doing it--Yankees10 23:42, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

John Linehan (basketball) Speedy Deletion

No problem mate, very sorry about the quick delete. I see so many kid athletes that "not in NBA" has my finger over the trigger faster than it should. Happy editing to you.  :) - FlyingToaster 06:21, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for the barnstar!--Yankees10 13:47, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

I think your interpretation of the MOS is off key here, This table is seriously over linked. The MOS regarding wikilinks in tables might apply if there were multiple tables on the page and the rest of the draft series followed suit. The entire draft series has been edited as first instance only (as required by good article standards not list/tables) and consistency is an important part of the NFL wiki project. Also the use of abbreviations needs to be eliminated just as it has been on the regular draft pages. Remember this is an encyclopedia and people other than sports statisticians read it. As always happy editing Slysplace talk 02:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Main Page redesign

The Main Page Redesign proposal is currently conducting a straw poll to select five new designs, before an RFC in which one will be proposed to replace the Main Page. The poll closes on October 31st. Your input would be hugely appreciated! Many thanks, PretzelsTalk! 10:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
