[edit]Hello, 2001:56A:72BB:2800:E47C:790F:DEB4:17EF. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Brendan Miller, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. CT55555(talk) 22:24, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
COI edits
[edit]Unlike almost all people who try to edit articles about themselves, your edits don't appear unduly self-serving, and you've shown a willingness to follow Wikipedia's core content policies (especially on sourcing). Nevertheless, under our WP:COI policy, you should still propose changes on the article's talk page, to allow uninvolved editors to review them before they make it into the article.
This isn't an adversarial process; everyone wants Wikipedia to be comprehensive, and non-defamatory. Complying with WP:COI wouldn't be too onerous for you, and would allow you to keep proposing changes without risking a ban (which I am not calling for, but which others would be within their rights to request).
Sincerely, DFlhb (talk) 23:28, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. CT55555(talk) 09:27, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
