Image tagging for Image:Athfmoonitesffdasdf.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Athfmoonitesffdasdf.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hello, 2-Bar Quack. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Ems logo pms 294.jpg) was found at the following location: User:2-Bar Quack. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 03:09, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. I saw your messages on User talk:Eagle 101. I wanted to take a moment to explain this in more detail. Images on Wikipedia all fall within two broad categories; available under a free license or not. The vast, vast majority of logos are not available under a free license. Even though the company may give you authority to use the logo on your business cards, the shirt you wear, or on a given website, it is still not under a free license. For it to be so, the company must state they irrevocably release all rights to their logo under a given license, such as GFDL or CC-by-sa. It is very rare indeed for a company to do this, as they have a strong vested interest in maintaining rights to their logos. Otherwise, a competitor could use their logo for whatever purpose they like.

Thus, even though the company has given you permission, we can only accept the logo under terms of fair use, as a copyrighted work for which the company has not released its rights. Per terms of our policy on this at Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria item #9, we do not permit the use of fair use imagery outside of the main article namespace. Thus, you can't use the logo on your userpage.

"But that's crazy! They gave me permission!" you might say. Even if they gave you permission we do not allow it. Why? Because if we did, we'd have a myriad of all sorts of permissions granted by various entities, making it exceptionally hard to manage our copyright adherence environment. This is to say nothing of the people who would willfully lie about the permission received (I'm not doubting you have received permission). It's far, far easier for us to manage this sort of usage by having a clear line in the sand, no fair use outside of the main article namespace.

I hope this clarifies things a bit, --Durin 19:59, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hell yeah. Quinn will be da man (I hope, anyhow). I especially like the way Winslow is developing, too. Let's just hope that Edwards can soften his touch a lil'. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 17:19, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talk Pages and colons

[edit]

Here's another tip...(didn't want the benoit talk page to be even more cluttered with non benoit stuff)

Using colons continues the topic discussion
Responses can have more than one colon

If things get to far indented, then start over with no colons and go from there.

Also, you don't need to use the line break code, it will do it for you

If yopu already know this, then I am sorry for mentioning it, but I thought I should give you that tip. Unspecified source for Image:Kazuma04.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kazuma04.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:43, 3 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Qst 18:43, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

I understand your frustration, even support it. I just wanted to point out that the "titties" comment that was specifically noted was not a part of that specific post about the Doctor's charges. That part was vandalized. The rest of it I do see your side on and sympathize with it. --Garistotle 19:20, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Caguas, Puerto Rico

[edit]

We are in the process of cleaning up the Caguas, Puerto Rico article. I will be one to add more information regarding the town. ^^ So soon you will know more about your birthplace. Wachapon2 02:53, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have not protected this title from recreation, but before you recreate the article I would strongly recommend you take the time to find appropriate sources to cite in any recreation. Running for political office is not in itself a claim of notability (Alfred E. Neuman has shown even fictional characters can run for President). Long term survival of this article will depend on the existence of news reports and other appropriate sources. --Allen3 talk 17:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:CaitlinandAaron.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:CaitlinandAaron.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. I believe that you toke this photo. But here in Wikipedia, we're an encyclopedia. That's meaning we're not able to host unencyclopedic photos, and yours was one of them, as long as it is not used anywhere in the website. Happy editing, happy uploading!--OsamaKReply? on my talk page, please 19:52, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I could put it on a website, I'm a web designer, but it's whatever, it still doesn't make sense to me, as it's a photo I took, so there are my rights to the photo2BARQUACK.COM (talk) 20:26, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

your user page

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.

I noticed that your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline . If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. The article ProStores has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
