About the ivory-billed woodpecker

[edit]

Hello, 1love19667, and welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your note at Talk:Ivory-billed woodpecker and replied there, but I thought you might not see it so I am repeating it here. If you really have evidence and pictures of this bird, you should submit them to the Fish and Wildlife Service. They supposedly will have a 28-day comment period, starting tomorrow (Sept. 30), before this declaration becomes official. Here is an article, or if you can't read the NYT, here is a USA Today article. I couldn't find any mention of a comment period at the USFW webpage, but look again in a few days. -- MelanieN (talk) 17:45, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But before doing that, consider that these birds are probably the similar but still very much alive Pileated woodpecker. Dan Bloch (talk) 17:57, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
