Help please

[edit]

I spoke to Nick earlier regarding Isaac dynamics, but I was unable to find anything. The article is almost certainly a copy of a deleted article, likely via AFD, which has been created somewhere different. My reasoning for this is that as I was adding a COI tag, I saw a refimprove tag from 2010 and a dmy tag from 2013, which were there from the start of this new article. It seems fairly likely that the editor (DynamicSimulation) copied everything from the old article. However, I want to be sure, and need help finding the old article (probably admins, given that they can see deleted pages). Thanks, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 18:18, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I found no evidence that we previously had an article on that topic. What I did find, however, is Flexsim, an unrelated article that shares many elements of Isaac dynamics' wiki code, not just those tags but also {{reflist|3}} and a similar categorization scheme. I'd say the author used the Flexsim article as a template and left the wikicode they didn't immediately understand (or care about) in place while adapting the content. There's nothing wrong with that approach, though the article has lots of other problems, of course. Huon (talk) 19:30, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Huon, thank you very much for finding that, I have no idea how you did it. Sorry for not AGFing, and thank you very much for spending your time researching it. All the best, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 19:33, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
When I couldn't find an indication that this was a repost of a deleted article, I searched the intersection of the maintenance categories belonging to those tags, Category:Articles needing additional references from March 2010 and Category:Use mdy dates from June 2013, as described here. That intersection was small enough to check the most likely sources for this combination of maintenance tags. Huon (talk) 23:59, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Death of Kluivert Roa, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages San Cristobal and Los Andes. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

David Cameron

[edit]

Hi: you changed David Cameron's name to David Cameroon in your most recent edit. I've corrected it again. -- The Anome (talk) 09:57, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I edit conflicted and didn't see your change, so just copied up the bit containing Cameron and the newly added bit on Clegg. Again, apologies for the typo The Anome. Thanks, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 09:58, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not to worry -- I saw it as a glitch in a good faith edit anyway. Thanks for adding the template: I've just gone over it and amended all the minor party leaders. -- The Anome (talk) 10:01, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for fixing all the issues. 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 10:02, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

LA Galaxy 4-3 FC Barcelona

[edit]

Hello 10 Potatoes (I took the liberty of adding these together as I am quite the mathematician), I have noticed you have been trying to have an important and informative article removed from our intellectual home and I am very disappointed that you have not provided an adequate reason for this. As one has not been provided, the only course of action which appears before me is to make an uninformed and callous guess that you have been feeling some sort of envy towards me and my family, possibly due to the bag of fifteen, yes fifteen potatoes we have sat in our fridge. In an effort to resolve this matter in a diplomatic way in keeping with the spirit of Wikipedia, I will quickly eat 6 potatoes, bringing the total down to 9, which returns you to the position of the man with the most potatoes. Thank you my friend for your time and just to say I am sorry for any offence my wife may have caused you with her careless grocery shopping.Bradwalsh93 (talk) 11:18, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Whilst I do indeed envy the sheer number of potatoes that you have hoarded (and suggest roasting them before donating them to me), I'm afraid that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, even though you beat Barcalona 4-3. Twitter or Facebook are more suited to such announcements (though you can work on improving potatoes). Thanks for discussing it, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 11:23, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Query

[edit]

Hey, AnonymousBananas her. Im new to Wiki. Just wanted to know how to move any article from User:Anonymousbananas/Rochak inter School fest to the mainspace or for review..

thanks

Anonymousbananas (talk) 18:22, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anonymousbananas. Wikipedia articles need references to show notability. Obviously there's nothing to stop you recreating it in mainspace, and if you ask me to I'll move it back ASAP, but it will likely be deleted if you don't add some references to show notability. The ability to move articles is given to autoconfirmed users-accounts over four days old with over ten edits. Thanks, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 18:24, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 1Potato2Potato3Potato4

Just to point out that after TheRealSingapore removed some of the votes on the Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Free_republic_of_liberland page[1], I had immediately reverted his edits[2]. You might not have noticed it before you also re-added what he removed, so I have removed your reversion to prevent double counting (I.e. Nikolao135,North America and 2a02:1811:b038:5700:11ae:f4f1:ca45:c195's votes would have been double-counted per your revision [3]. Not your fault, its TheRealSingapore who should not have removed those votes in the first place, causing us confusion in trying to correct the situation. Cheers! Zhanzhao (talk) 02:51, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for that, thanks for the heads up. 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 19:03, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Something made me think this was a new page, but it's not. I must have been on WP for too long today. 220 of Borg 14:43, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

220 of Borg: No problem. Only possible minor issue is you may want to mention that on the talk page, though I can't see it mattering. Did you find any sources other than the link? Thanks, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 16:53, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm about to head out - I'll look into it later tonight. Judging by the way the article is written I have a suspicion I was sourcing it to a map, way back when. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 19:13, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I did some digging and I can't seem to find anything on any of the available maps. (Though I didn't have the time to look at too many.) And it's been long enough ago that I don't have any memory of what the source might have been. Feel free to nuke it if you desire. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:26, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I won't tag it for deletion, given your status as a respectable editor, but I may just add a tag. Thanks for the discussion, 1Potato2Potato3Potato4 (talk) 16:21, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
