Sortname

When working on sortable filmography tables, you do not need the template {{sortname}} when the title of the film or TV series is correctly sortable without the template. That is, in general, sortname is needed only when the title has a leading article (The, A, or An); otherwise just use a regular link. Breaking up titles unnecessarily with bars, as you did in the article Mike McShane and elsewhere, just makes a mess of the sorting. —ShelfSkewed Talk 18:35, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
