You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (190.158.26.48) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a new Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! S Philbrick(Talk) 13:29, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Doctor Octopus, you may be blocked from editing.
Do not make threats of violence on Wikipedia. Users who make such threats of violence will be blocked or banned from editing, or, in severe cases, reported to law enforcement. NewEnglandYankee (talk) 15:43, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Spider-Man in film to Doctor Octopus (your addition has since been removed). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:29, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at A.I. Artificial Intelligence, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. The Old JacobiteThe '45 15:43, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

Talk page access revoked
[edit]- For further history of this IP user's behavior earlier this month, I would ask Kirbanzo, Jayron32, IanDBeacon, and Longhair to see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive996#Edit-warring IP issues death threats. 8.37.179.254 (talk) 00:39, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
