[edit]Hi 162.219.131.183! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Micro-investing several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Micro-investing, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Per WP:BRD, you will need to use the talk page. Already stated reason for original revert in edit summary (editorializing). We also don't need to include random quotes from cherry picked sources.. CNMall41 (talk) 03:43, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- While we are here, have you edited Wikipedia under any other account previously? Your editing behavior indicates that you are more familiar with Wikipedia terminology than many new users.--CNMall41 (talk) 03:49, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Why yes User:CNMall41, you noticed! I likely have been editing Wikipedia far longer than you have - maybe longer than you've been alive! I might recommend you read the WP:IP editors are human too and WP:Don't cry COI essays, which experienced editors find very useful when working to successfully collaborate with strangers. 162.219.131.183 (talk) 03:56, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Then you are familiar with WP:BRD. You are also free to use WP:ANI if you feel I am biting. --CNMall41 (talk) 04:15, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- ANI would be a bit extreme for a few reverts, I think, I'd rather collaborate or compromise. I tend to pout at general reversions, but really have no problem with content I add being severely modified. With micro-investing, my main goal was just adding some stats and critical material to deal with the pseudo-promotional tone, but honestly couldn't find much to work with in the press. I guess micro-investing hasn't had a big scandal except being a relatively untested fintech trend. 162.219.131.183 (talk) 04:56, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, unless Wikipedia is more than 60 years, you would not have been editing longer than my life. lol Anyways, this edit is what drew my attention. This page has a history of someone attempting to actually add the "by who" on this and many other pages in Wikipedia (all reverted for spam and users blocked). So I wasn't simply grasping at straws based on you being an IP. I believe Robinhood (company) allows micro investing but that "scandal" is already widely covered on its own page. I have no issues with adding content, obviously we are in a collaboration environment, I would just object to the large amount of quotes instead of summing up what the reference say. --CNMall41 (talk) 05:34, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- Lol, you beat me in age then. Fair enough about the quotes -- I was more focused on stats and new citations than wording, and used quotes mostly to avoid accidentally using squirmy weasel words on a topic I'm not very familiar with -- so it was a cop-out that way, and in the long-run, obviously not aesthetically ideal. 162.219.131.183 (talk) 17:42, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
