Hi. It looks like you've put some mistaken information into articles regarding locations in New Orleans wards. See Wards of New Orleans for descriptions, locations, and maps showing where the wards are. Hope this helps! Cheers, Infrogmation (talk) 17:05, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Melphomene Projects"

[edit]

A page you created, Melphomene Projects, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is obvious advertising or promotional material.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Falcon8765 (talk) 17:03, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I redirected it to the correct spelling, Melpomene Projects. Named after Melpomene Street in New Orleans, which in turn was named after Melpomene. Cheers, Infrogmation (talk) 17:10, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another note: articles, like users, have Wikipedia:Talk pages. If you disagree with other users edits or have questions, please discuss on the talk page, or explain your edit in the edit summary. Please don't keep reverting without explanation. Thanks. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Infrogmation (talk) 17:14, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your edit [1] to Housing Authority of New Orleans. The spelling of Melpomene is mentioned above. Yeah, some people in New Orleans say it like "Melf"; lots of streets are pronounced in different ways, but that doesn't change how they're spelled nor what the official name is. The Magnolia Projects are/were Uptown along Freret from Washington Avenue to Louisiana Avenue, not in the "3rd Ward" -- look at any maps showing showing the streets by the Magnolia and compare it to the Ward boundaries. I'm assuming good faith in your edits, but it looks like you're putting in dubious material. If you disagree with my reverting you, please discuss either here or (even more appropriately, I think) in the article talk page. Thanks. Infrogmation (talk) 01:10, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Re: [2] More of the same without discussion can result in an editing block on your account. Infrogmation (talk) 17:59, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If there is any reason for your edits, please discuss them on relevent talk pages of articles or give explanation. You give wards other than the actual geographic location of places. It is unclear what your claim of wards "to locals" is supposed to mean. Wards are divisions of New Orleans set by local law. Infrogmation (talk) 23:50, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please discuss/explain your recent edit at Talk:3rd Ward of New Orleans. Thanks. Infrogmation (talk) 03:21, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re this edit of yours: [http://www.algierspoint.org/ AlgiersPoint.org front page and Algiers Historical Society give it as 1719. Reason for the change you made? -- Infrogmation (talk) 19:59, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Photos

[edit]

Thanks for uploading photos. You need to add information on the photos for Wikimedia to keep using them. Did you take the photos yourself, and if not who did? What license? Again, if you have questions about Wikipedia policies or procedures you can't find an answer to, ask. Thanks. Infrogmation (talk) 09:11, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:St thomas projects.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.

File source problem with File:Central city.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Central city.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:14, 7 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading File:Desire project 2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 05:50, 8 February 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 05:50, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of U.S. Naval Support Area, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.gnocdc.org/orleans/12/5/snapshot.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
