Edits at Cruelty to animals
[edit]Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Cruelty to animals. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. - Hello, 14082009aug, and I'm sorry that your welcome to Wikipedia was not more welcoming than it has been. I got your message to me at my talk page, and I thank you for that, and I'm answering here. As you can see just above, another editor has already reverted what you did. I understand that you were acting in good faith in making your edits, but there are some important rules about editing Wikipedia that come into play. As the other editor said above, WP:NPOV is an important policy, and I encourage you to please read it. In addition, it is also important to cite sources for anything you add, so there needed to be one or more references for those statistics. Please read WP:RS. In my opinion, the edit that you made to the "In law" section of the article was something that was already covered later in the article, in the section about psychological disturbances. The statistics have the potential to be encyclopedic, but they need to be presented neutrally, and with references. Again, I apologize if the greeting you received here has been a bit harsh, and I want to assure you that you are more than welcome to get back in touch with me if you have any questions whatsoever. --Tryptofish (talk) 19:41, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- i was getting to the addition of references of those statistics. im a new user to wikipedia and am a college student doing this for a paper forr my english class. i mean no harm in what i put. i just have to have a research log.
- That's OK. Please feel free to ask me if you need any help. Happy editing, and good luck! --Tryptofish (talk) 20:05, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

- No problem, and you are very welcome. I think you now know this already, but just in case not, you can find that answer at Wikipedia:Edit warring. Happy editing! --Tryptofish (talk) 19:55, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
