I don't think a block on this IP should be affecting your ability to reset your password. That's done via email- and this block is only on users without accounts. The block does prevent account creation, are you attempting to create a new account? 331dot (talk) 18:08, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

School-owned computer. My IP is linked to my school email, which already has a Wikipedia account. I plan to reset my password for my existing account so I can access it without forgetting my password. 128.254.249.7 (talk) 18:25, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

@331dot: I don't know if this helps, but I'm on an IP with the same block settings right now, and when I try to get to the login screen in another browser I don't get the reset password link in the first place. When I go to Special:PasswordReset, I get this message: "Your IP address is blocked from editing. To prevent abuse, it is not allowed to use password recovery from this IP address." I didn't know that that was a thing, but it's probably related to the mass-spamming of admin account password resets we saw a few years back. I don't have a good solution for this, other than to advise the user to reset their password at home. Ivanvector (^Talk/_Edits) 18:35, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
