Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, 123.215.16.234. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Park Seo-joon, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Also please tell me why you are using a proxy server? ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 17:15, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Park Seo-joon, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:123.215.16.234, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=123.215.16.234|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. I am assuming that you have a financial stake in this edit as you claim to be their "production manager" as per your last edit summary. Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Puli (2015 film). However, do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Thanks! P.S. If you need further help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. SUN EYE 1 12:07, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Follow the rules. Do not use non-WP:RS sources. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:35, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, AR Murugadoss, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 15:43, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to M. G. Ramachandran. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 13:34, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Faith (South Korean TV series), you may be blocked from editing. Materialscientist (talk) 10:17, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop adding poor references like this. We do not link to potential copyright violations, like a video released on an unverified channel. We also do not typically rely on primary sources for controversial content, like information about a film's financial performance. People involved with the film have a reason to inflate their financial performance. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:15, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove maintenance templates from Wikipedia articles without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Puli (2015 film). Do not remove templates. I told you that before. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:02, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Diffs: [1] Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:32, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for persistently making disruptive edits. The bulk of your recent edits looks like you're here to push an agenda.
  • Here you seem to be pushing the 144 crore figure, conveniently ignoring that IBT is casting doubt on this figure. They note "However, the box office reports published by several websites are not credible ... So, it looks like the collections of the film may not cross ₹100 crore." Maybe you didn't notice that because you were busy pushing a narrative? Further, you add improperly sourced content that draws a conclusion that Tamil Nadu audiences moved to other states, and that's why the film made 144 crore. The source you used doesn't make this claim, and if the film didn't gross 144 crore as IBT seems to suggest, that conclusion would be a total fabrication.
  • Here you appear to have converted a US dollar figure from 2009 into 2020 Indian rupees. How would that make sense? And no, IndiaGlitz isn't a reliable source, so adding it to the gross parameter wouldn't be appropriate, but also It doesn't even say 80 crore. That is indistinguishable from vandalism.
Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions, but any more poorly-sourced or agenda-based editing will result in a longer block.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:48, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm CreativeNorth. I noticed that you recently removed content from 7aum Arivu without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.
