Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Evolutionary linguistics may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. Line breaks

[edit]

Hello, thanks for your useful copyedits on Wikipedia. However, please do not add extra line breaks to Wikipedia articles, as they make diffs (i.e. differences between two versions of articles) much harder to read. I have just spent several hours removing the gratuitous line breaks that you've added. If you continue this practice you will be blocked. Graham87 11:13, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Opening sentence

[edit]

Hello. Just a reminder that the opening sentence of an article should be just that: a sentence. Not sure why you'd want to remove verb and relative pronoun, as you did with this edit, converting the sentence to a list of phrases, but I don't think it's particularly constructive. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:39, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And please ignore the above... Your changed wording clearly is a sentence, and the problem lay with my failure to read it as such because its structure differed from the basic WP:BETTER#Lead section-style opening sentence. Sorry. Struway2 (talk) 10:10, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Baba O'Riley has been reverted.
Your edit here to Baba O'Riley was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZwOq0tTEPE) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Panther edit

[edit]
Hi there. Your edit was of a major scope, so it does desrve discussion by other contributors. Please comment at the panther talk page. It is also useful for others to give a brief note on the edit summary bar. Please do not revert but discuss those points in the article talkpage. Please read WP:BRD and [WP:CONSENSUS]]. Please do not tag featured articles, as you did on the above. If you have a problem, go to the talk page where I'm sure someone will answer your queries. I have reverted you. Oh, and your grammatical fixes too were highly questionable. CassiantoTalk 07:21, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in The Go-Betweens, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 21:52, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kpgjhpjm. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Ernst Plischke have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk. Thanks. Kpgjhpjm 01:54, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I can see no reason for this notice and the reversion and in a perfect world I think that Kpgjhpjm would probably acknowledge this and apologize. Since, 122.56.100.98, you are clearly making good edits (my attention was drawn by your useful addition of the quotes about Philip Pullman) why don't you just get an account and perhaps encounter fewer incidents of this sort. You also get other useful benefits like a Watch List. I know you shouldn't have to get an account and you've probably thought about it before and all the rest of it ... I just wanted to mention it again in case a nudge might help. I am quite prepared to be rebuffed! Cheers DBaK (talk) 08:06, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! - wolf 09:09, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
