Well, I don't consider Iran as a South Asian country too. In fact, I don't consider Afghanistan as a South Asian country either. In my geography book, both of them have been listed as West Asian countries, but I personally think countries should be grouped by culture, not politics, so I personally consider both of them as Central Asian countries.

However, what I think, what my geograghy book says, what you think, or what the genegral South Asian public think, do not matter. We cannot edit something just base on what we think. Wikipedia is an online community, we have rules to follow. Wikipedia article relies on reliable sources, for geography contents, the UN geoscheme is the most widely used RS in Wikipedia, so we need to respect that. As I have told you before, the UN geoscheme is not perfect, I personally don't agree with at least 3 or 4 of their inclusions, but I cannot impose my view over it, so the best practice for us is adding some notes as a clarification.

Personally, I cannot understand the rationale behind your edits. You just persistently try to delete a note which only helps to avoid confusion. Please refrain from enforcing your "criteria of inclusion", thank you. 120.16.215.123 (talk) 05:57, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

The CIA World Factbook is a reliable source used on Wikipedia so is the World Bank. Both don't consider Iran to be South Asian so why must we only use the UN geoscheme? One could easily make an argument for the use of the WHO geographical definitions which are very different to what most people are used to. Most reliable sources, including the SAARC definition from South Asia, don't consider Iran to be a South Asian country. So we really should look at all reliable sources whilst also taking into account reliable sources from South Asian countries to define the region. Also, this article is about the Asia-Pacific region and Iran is not considered to be an Asia-Pacific nation. You must also understand how the South Asia Wikipedia page is also constructed. Does it include Iran? No it doesn't and that's because the article has been defined using multiple reliable sources to construct the page and does not rely on one source. I'm not trying to enforce my own criteria of inclusion. I am merely trying to take into account as many sources as possible. The deletion of the note isn't going to cause any confusion in my opinion. Most people don't know what the UN geoscheme definition of South Asia is. So, in fact, one could say that the note is only going to create confusion to those who are not aware of the UN geoscheme definition.

@MistyfelSR: what is your issue here? Are you genuinely interested in following the rules of Wikipedia and editing this encyclopaedia or are you only here to come after me? Right now, it looks like the latter because you have done absolutely NOTHING regarding the disputes you have with me. You have not given me any sources or any genuine discourse regarding the disputed edits. All you have done is harass me and follow every single thing I have done in an attempt to block me. This user has absolutely nothing to say because they have followed the rules, something which you have not done. Can you see how this user started speaking about the disputed edits?
