User talk:120.16.177.83
November 2020
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Continent; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. BilCat (talk) 10:16, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
- Hi BilCat, I think you've confused me with this user. I didn't get involved in an edit war with anyone. Khajidha reverted my initial edit, I restored my edit and wrote an edit summary explaining why I had restored my edit, he then reverted my edit again, I restored it again and left a message in his talk page, he didn't revert back, so none of us has broken the WP:3RR rule.
- This issue has now been resolved in his talk page. 120.16.177.83 (talk) 12:18, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Don't worry about performance
[edit]Hi 120.16.177.83, I think you should review Wikipedia:Don't worry about performance. Saving a few bytes or a redirect lookup is irrelevant and useless, not our job as editors. Just forget about it completely. The devs will let us know if there's something that affects performance in a meaningful way. --Trovatore (talk) 17:14, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
