Recent edit to Wall Paintings of Thera
[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contribution to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to the Wall Paintings of Thera article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Thank you! Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Qantas, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Not bone china
[edit]Okay, I'll discuss. Why exactly are you removing the section? You haven't really given an explanation for doing it. -A lad insane (Channel 2) 03:03, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- Explanation was given as much as is possible in an edit summary, for example: 'The removed text is not about bone china.' This greater than the edit summary of '?' used for a revert.
- The removed text is 'In China, kaolin was sometimes described as forming the 'bones' of the paste, while the 'flesh' was provided by the refined rocks suitable for the porcelain body.' This is not about bone china, just as it's not about 'flesh' china or porcelain (not that such a material exists, but the point is made). The text includes an analogy of bones, referring to kaolin, but bone china is called so because of use of bones (or more correctly calcined bones: bone ash) The 'bone' use in an analogy is just a coincidence of the similar word (but not the same) as the key raw material for bone china. Another unrelated discussion is the anachronistic term of 'paste'.
