Block Appeal
[edit]@ST47:
108.34.231.7 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Caught by a web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 108.34.231.7. Of note, the IP referenced in the error message is not the IP showing on any "What is my ip?" website. Under the suggestion of Daniel Case, I contacted the Telcom and they cannot find a reason why different IP addresses fall under such a range block. This older article mentions something similar happening a few years ago [1]. 108.34.231.7 (talk) 11:14, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This IP address is not blocked. If you are getting a different IP address show up, that is because you used a proxy or a VPN within the past 24 hours. You need to ensure that is disabled and then wait a full 24 hours for the block to clear. Yamla (talk) 12:18, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- @Yamla:Understood. One question, why delete the article from Slashdot? Just asking, I am not trying to anger anybody. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.34.231.7 (talk • contribs)
- I haven't the slightest idea what you are talking about. What article from Slashdot? --Yamla (talk) 14:05, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, do you mean the link to this? That's because the unblock template doesn't expect references and so doesn't preserve them when going through the review process. Basically, you were expected to link to the article rather than reference it. --Yamla (talk) 14:07, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know about the process. Still trying to learn the ins and outs. 108.34.231.7 (talk) 16:42, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
- No problem. For the record, that was confusing for me, too. :) --Yamla (talk) 20:51, 6 February 2022 (UTC)

Controversial topic area alert
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in gender-related disputes or controversies or in people associated with them. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Your conduct concerns
[edit]Hi Anon. I wanted to respond here about conduct concerns your raised at Talk:Patrisse Cullors. It would be greatly helpful if you could keep the article talk page discussion focused on the content and not other editors' conduct. The dispute resolution policy has some good advice on this: focus on content. If you need to voice conduct concerns, it's best to follow the steps outlined at WP:CONDUCTDISPUTE, the first of which is to bring it up politely at the user's talk page. Hope this helps, Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 01:43, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. Will do now. 108.34.231.7 (talk) 02:36, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

[edit]It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Talk:Patrisse Cullors. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. Blocked from editing for 3 months
[edit]This is done as a standard admin action. See [1]. Read WP:GAB for info, although I wouldn't support unblocking. Edit warring on talk pages, BLP violations (using reddit as a source for negative material) and more. We don't have time for this. Please note, the block is not on this particular IP address, it is on you as an individual. If you show up with another address, the block will be extended for a longer period of time, an dyes, we are pretty good at determining this. Dennis Brown - 2¢ 11:03, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
