Please don’t bite me, I’m a newbie!
I’m a university student in a Wikipedia Education class, and I’m currently learning how to contribute to Wikipedia.
I am approaching my subject in good faith.
If you have any concerns or questions, my tutor’s name is Sun_jess (talk · contribs). Thanks!
My chosen topic for this semester is Artist-in-residence.
ibid
[edit]Hello, 01fiafiafia01
I see you have't contributed in a while but maybe you might come back sometime? So I thought I should advise you that, while it is entirely legitimate and sensible to use ibid in a printed text, it is rather unwise to do so in something like Wikipedia. The reason is that, at a subsequent date, another editor might add a sentence after your first (fully cited) statement but before your ibid-cited statement. So now the ibid is associated with something irrelevant, which is not what you wanted. You will not be surprised to learn that you are not the first to encounter this issue so see WP:NAMEDREFS for the easy solution. (There is also a fancier way, which is how I've fixed the issue, but you can park that option unless and until you decide to come back.) --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 11:20, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
